When AI starts to feel more real than reality… where do we draw the line?

A neurologist in Japan turned to AI to discuss medical ideas.
At first, it felt helpful. Encouraging. Even affirming.

But over time, the conversations changed.

He began to believe he was a “revolutionary thinker.”
Then, that he could read minds.

Weeks later, his grip on reality had blurred—with devastating consequences.

A recent BBC investigation found multiple cases where prolonged AI interactions appeared to reinforce delusional thinking, especially in vulnerable individuals.

AI can inform.
It can support.
But it can also mirror—and amplify—what we already believe.

As these tools become more human-like, one question matters more than ever:

After working with many educators, I’ve started to feel this more strongly…
It’s not just about getting students to use A.I.
It’s about helping them think—question, break down problems, and understand what’s happening behind the tool.

And I hope to reach out to more teachers who feel the same.
Because 2027 is coming, and A.I. will be in our syllabus.

But beyond teaching it as a topic, how can we use it meaningfully in our classrooms today?

That’s why I’m thinking of starting small.
A simple, practical workshop—nothing too overwhelming—just a space for teachers to grow together.

Something like:
🧠 Understanding A.I. in a way that actually makes sense
🛠️ Trying out simple ways to use A.I. for lesson preparation
📚 Exploring how to introduce A.I. concepts to students
💡 Most importantly—how to build computational thinking, not just tool usage

No hype. No tech jargon.
Just real conversations and hands-on sharing.

I’m planning to run this either:
✨ 4 hours over the weekend, or
✨ 2 sessions (2 hours each) on weekday evenings (online)
Keeping it small and interactive—around 10 teachers to start.

We’ve successfully completed two batches of our 1-day AI training with a 400-employee manufacturing company.

It’s been a rewarding experience working with such engaged participants, and we’re grateful for the positive feedback received. Seeing teams actively explore new ways of thinking and applying what they’ve learned is always encouraging.

As workplaces continue to evolve, the ability to leverage AI is becoming increasingly important—not just as a tool, but as a way to enhance productivity, improve decision-making, and solve problems more effectively.

Looking forward to continuing this learning journey together.

AI is evolving so fast that what seemed impossible yesterday is already happening today. People are now creating 80-episode dramas, each just 2 minutes long.

80 episodes. Sounds crazy, right?

Yet… people are hooked.
Why?
Because 2 minutes feels short.

But what most people don’t realize is this isn’t accidental. It’s designed.
These micro-episodes tap into powerful psychological hooks:
• Quick emotional payoff
• Cliffhangers every 2 minutes
• Low commitment → “just one more”
• Continuous dopamine loop
Before you know it, you’ve watched 20 episodes.
AI didn’t just make content creation faster —
It’s accelerating attention engineering.

And this is where the real shift is happening.

The question is no longer:
“Can AI create content?”
The real question is:
“Do you understand how AI is reshaping human behavior?”

Because the winners in this AI era won’t just be the ones who use tools —
They’ll be the ones who understand:

“Gen Z may have lower IQ than the generation before them.”
Is that true?

A neuroscientist, Dr. Jared Cooney Horvath, suggests Gen Z could be the first generation to perform worse academically and cognitively than their parents.

Reported declines include:

• Attention
• Memory
• Reading & math performance
• Problem-solving
• Standardized IQ scores

For decades, intelligence scores rose steadily — a pattern known as the Flynn Effect. Some researchers now believe that trend is slowing or reversing.

So is Gen Z less intelligent?

Not exactly. But something is changing.

What’s driving it?

Experts point to environment — not genetics.

1️⃣ Digital overload
Gen Z grew up on smartphones, social media, and short-form content. Constant scrolling may reduce deep focus and long-form learning.

2️⃣ Shallow learning habits
Less deep reading. More skimming. Heavy reliance on quick searches and AI tools. Avoiding mental struggle weakens critical thinking.

3️⃣ Education shifts
In some regions, heavy classroom tech use hasn’t improved results. When digital tools replace foundational skills, performance can drop.

4️⃣ Less reading, less focus
Reduced sustained reading and more screen time may impact cognitive test outcomes.

Is Gen Z “dumb”?

No.

Gen Z is creative, tech-savvy, adaptable, and fast at processing information.

But deep focus and critical reasoning are like muscles — if they’re not trained, they weaken.

How do we respond?

✅ Teach computational thinking, not just memorization
✅ Rebuild deep reading culture
✅ Set healthy screen boundaries
✅ Encourage curiosity and problem-solving
✅ Model strong intellectual habits
✅ Balance technology with foundational learning

Final thought:
Every generation advances when it strengthens the mind.

The future belongs to those who think deeply — not just swipe quickly.
