Most parents expect:
👉 “My child should know A–Z by 2… and write by 3.”
But here’s the truth 👇
Before children can read or write,
their brain needs to develop speech sounds first.
If a child cannot hear, recognise, and produce sounds clearly…
👉 reading and writing will ALWAYS feel harder later.
At 2–3 years old, what matters more is:
✔ Speaking clearly
✔ Listening to sounds
✔ Building language
Not rushing worksheets or writing.
Because strong speech = strong reading foundation.
At Little Sprout, we focus on what truly matters —
building the foundation properly, not rushing the outcome.

真正影响孩子未来的,不是“学得早”。
不是作业
不是背更多
👉 是玩
👉 是探索
👉 是体验
👉 是休息
这些,才是在建立大脑的能力。
💡 早期教育不是“抢跑”,而是打好基础。

These are the foundations that support brain development, learning, and long-term success in the early years.
Not worksheets.
Not “getting ahead.”
👉 Mess
👉 Play
👉 Movement
👉 Rest
That’s what builds the brain.
💡 The early years are not a race —they’re the foundation.

Most parents worry their child is “falling behind.”
But here’s the truth 👇
At 1–3 years old,
they don’t need more worksheets.
They need:
✔ Language
✔ Emotional security
✔ Play
Because this builds:
– Confidence
– Thinking
– Real readiness for Standard 1
You can push early.
But you can’t rush development.
At Little Sprout, we build the foundation right.

Many parents think learning comes from expensive toys.
But at 2 years old…
the best learning comes from the simplest materials.
Not because it’s cheap-
but because it allows children to think, explore, and create.

Another week, another messy play! 😄
Look at what our little ones have been up to this week- mixing, pouring, squishing, and exploring with so much focus and curiosity.
Messy play isn’t just about the mess (though there was plenty 😉). It supports sensory exploration, fine motor development, problem-solving, and teamwork- all while having loads of fun.
Because sometimes, the best learning happens when things get a little messy 💛
