Asia Mindfulness 亚洲正念 "We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them." - Albert Einstein. Mindfulness enables you to have a choice to respond

Stress, coping with chronic pain and unresolved health problems are all too common challenges in this frantic and mindless world. Among those common symptoms are erratic sleeps, weight problems, depression, feeling loss of control, stuck, difficulty to stay focus, restlessness and a weakening of the immune system. Clinical studies have shown that mindfulness based training programme alleviates str

ess, helps coping with pain and chronic illness and improves overall health significantly better than controlled group. WHAT IS MINDFULNESS? Mindfulness is a skill that enables us to pay attention to what is happening in the present moment with increased awareness of our thoughts, feelings and body sensations with open curiosity. MINDFULNESS FOR STRESS, CHRONIC PAIN AND WELL-BEING
Our mindfulness programme is based on the clinically proven MBSR (Mindfulness based Stress Reduction) and MBCT (Mindfulness based Cognitive Therapy for prevention of relapse of depression) programme, incorporating skills training in mindfulness, stress physiology and cognitive awareness. It trains participants to develop and draw on their own inner resources to bring about focus, greater balance, coping strategies, stability and wellbeing. Mindfulness programme such as MBSR and MBCT are highly recognized and respected in the international medical community. It is offered as a complement to medical and psychological treatments and in the case of MBCT, as an alternative to antidepressant medications in the prevention of relapse of depression, as well as for overall health enhancement, resiliency, and self-care. MBSR ORIGINS
MBSR was developed in 1979 by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at The Stress Clinic, University of Massachusetts Medical School. MBSR is now offered in medical centre, hospitals, clinics, corporations, schools, government departments, prisons and other settings worldwide. CLINICAL RESEARCH FINDINGS
MBSR and its equivalent (e.g.MBCT) has been widely researched over the past 30 years and found to be effective for alleviating a wide range of psychological and physical symptoms including chronic pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances, mild depression, anxiety, panic, respiratory disease, headaches, skin disorders and heart disease among others. She raised her nasi lemak price from RM1.50 to RM1.80.
And it broke her heart.

Makcik Rosnah has been selling nasi lemak for over 10 years.

Same stall. Same early mornings. Same customers.

But recently, everything changed.

The price of chicken went up.
Cooking oil went up.
Even basic ingredients became unpredictable.

Not because of anything in her control.

But because of conflicts happening thousands of kilometers away.

At the same time, in another country, a motorcycle driver is working two extra hours a day…

Just to earn what he used to.

This is the reality of the world we are living in today.

A deep, global shift where:
• Wars affect food prices
• Politics affects your daily expenses
• Decisions made far away reshape your life

Whether we follow the news or not…
we are all part of it.

So how do we stay grounded in a world like this?

Not by ignoring it.
Not by obsessing over it.

But by learning how to respond differently.

🧘‍♀️ A Simple Way to Cope

When things feel overwhelming:
• Pause and take a breath
• Focus on what is actually in front of you
• Ask: “What can I control right now?”

Because while the world may feel chaotic…

Your response doesn’t have to be.

🌱 Maybe this is the real opportunity

To slow down.
To rethink what truly matters.
To reconnect—with ourselves, our families, our communities.

In uncertain times, strength is not about having all the answers.

It’s about staying steady… even when things are unclear.

💬 If this spoke to you, share your thoughts:
How are you navigating these changes?
