📚 The 4th essential foundation before entering primary schoo: Imagination and Creativity
In today's world, where so many things are pre-made and structured, nurturing children's imagination and creativity is more important than ever.

Children naturally come with a rich imagination. Through play, they explore the world, develop themselves, and express their creativity. To support this, they need meaningful activities and positive examples from the adults around them.

We often hear children playing pretend and saying things like:
“I'm the mother, and you're the father. You need to go to work.”
“We're having pizza today. First, I need to invent a machine that makes pizza!”
Through imagination, children take what they have seen, heard, and experienced, and transform it into something new. They fully enter their roles and often create wonderful ideas of their own.

The German psychologist William Stern described children's creativity as being rooted in both real-life experiences and an inner ability to create worlds that do not yet exist.
This is why Waldorf kindergartens place great value on protecting and nurturing imagination. Instead of toys with only one fixed purpose, children are offered natural materials that can be used in many different ways. Stories and puppet plays also inspire children to create their own imaginative games and stories.

Children absorb everything around them, yet they are not fully able to distinguish what is beneficial from what is not. Therefore, one of our most important tasks as adults is to provide experiences that are beautiful, meaningful, and worthy of imitation.

Imaginative and artistic activities help expand a child's inner world. The creativity developed in early childhood lays the foundation for original thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to shape one's life in meaningful ways later on.

有些孩子，明明不笨，却总是很难坐下来学习；
一下分心、一下动来动去，做功课特别容易抗拒。

其实，专注力不只是 “态度问题”，
🌿 “它也和孩子的 身体发展、动作协调、感官整合 有关。”

当孩子的身体还没有准备好，
要长时间坐着、专心听、稳定书写，
对他们来说真的很吃力。

所以这次的工作坊，
我们希望透过【动作练习 Movement】与【艺术活动 Art】，
让家长与老师更理解：
✨ 为什么 movement 能帮助孩子稳定下来
✨ 为什么有些孩子需要 “先动，才能学”
✨ 如何用温和、有效的方式支持孩子，而不是一直提醒与催促

这不是训练孩子 “更快”，而是帮助孩子建立更稳固的发展基础。

📚 The 3rd essential foundation before entering primary school: Language Development

Thinking and language are deeply connected. Through language, we express our thoughts, understand the world around us, and build relationships with others. That is why children learn to speak most naturally when they grow up in an environment filled with meaningful conversation. Warm and connected communication between adults and children is especially important for healthy language development.

Over the past twenty years, many countries have noticed an increasing number of preschool children experiencing speech delays or language difficulties. Research suggests that one major reason is that modern families are spending less time truly talking together, reading aloud, and telling stories. This is sometimes called the modern “silent family” phenomenon.

When children learn to describe things in their own words, they are also learning to understand the world through their own feelings and experiences. However, many children today are exposed to television, phones, and screens at a very young age. During the stage when imagination and inner pictures should be developing naturally, children are constantly receiving ready-made images from outside. Over time, this may weaken their imagination, independent thinking, and inner vitality.

Rudolf Steiner also spoke about how the environment and content children are exposed to can directly influence their brain and inner development. When children are constantly surrounded by chaotic, meaningless, or negative content, it can affect the way they think and respond to the world in the future.

Although every child starts speaking at a different pace, all children need good language role models in order to develop healthily. This is why stories, songs, finger plays, and rhythmic verses are so valued in Waldorf education.

At the same time, the way adults speak to children matters too. Children need language that is warm, clear, genuine, and full of imagery, but not overly simplified baby talk or abstract explanations.

🌱 In Summary:
From an early age, children need intentional and caring language nourishment. Taking time to truly listen to children and without constantly interrupting or correcting them lays an important foundation for their future reading, communication, and comprehension skills.

This time, we have specially designed two introductory workshops for parents and educators to rediscover the foundations of child development through Movement and Art.
