๐ Exploring UK University Pathways
On 3 February 2026, SJIS Pre-University students attended a special briefing session by MABECS Malaysia, organised by the Pre-U Department as part of our ECA programme to help students prepare for their university admission journey.
The session was led by Ms Emma Davidson, Head of Teaching & Learning, who introduced the SCAPE and BEAM programmes and shared useful insights on preparing for university applications in the UK. Students also had the opportunity to receive individual guidance on strengthening their applications and planning their next academic steps.
A meaningful session that gave our Pre-U students valuable exposure as they prepare for their future studies. โจ

At St Josephโs Pre University, our AUSMAT Chemistry students donโt just study scientific concepts โ they live them.
A distinctive strength of the AUSMAT syllabus is its emphasis on authentic scientific inquiry. Students are challenged to design and conduct their own experiments, carry out literature and feasibility studies, troubleshoot real laboratory issues, and produce formal scientific reports.
This approach closely reflects the expectations of tertiary-level science, offering students a learning experience akin to a mini masterโs programme.
Throughout this journey, our students demonstrated resilience and independence. Trial and error was part of the process โ and each challenge became an opportunity for deeper understanding and growth.
From planning to ex*****on, from data analysis to evaluation, they took full ownership of their learning.
Through hands-on inquiry, our students developed:
๐น Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
๐น Accuracy and discipline in data collection
๐น Clear scientific communication
๐น A meaningful understanding of chemistry in real-world contexts
Watching them grow in confidence, curiosity, and scientific maturity has been truly rewarding. This is experiential learning at its best โ nurturing future-ready learners who think and work like scientists.
We are immensely proud of our AUSMAT Chemistry students and their dedication to excellence.

At St. Josephโs International School, education is about balance โ nurturing not only the mind, but also the heart and character.
One of the meaningful highlights for our Pastoral Care session yesterday was where our students took time to reflect on values, faith, relationships, and personal growth. In the midst of academic goals and future ambitions, these moments remind our students of what truly shapes a strong and grounded individual.
Father Stanley shared the Parable of the Sower, reminding students that each of us is like soil receiving seeds of potential, opportunities, and gifts. Growth depends on how we nurture what we have been given. When we cultivate our talents with care, perseverance, and the right attitude, we become โgood soilโ โ able to grow, flourish, and bear fruit.
His message encouraged students to recognise that their gifts are not meant to be kept to themselves. Instead, they are meant to be developed and used in service of others.
True success is not only personal achievement, but the positive impact we make in the lives of those around us.
We believe success is not measured by grades alone. It is also found in:
โจ Integrity
โจ Compassion
โจ Resilience
โจ Respect for self and others
By creating space for conversations that matter, we help our students grow into thoughtful, principled young adults who are ready not just for university, but for life โ young people who will use their abilities to serve, uplift, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
At SJIS, we are proud to provide an education that is holistic, meaningful, and rooted in strong values โ because who our students become is just as important as what they achieve.

Our campus came alive this week as we welcomed our new batch of Pre-University students โ AUSMAT 2026 and Cambridge A Level 2026/27 ๐
It has been an exciting start filled with new journeys, a new environment, new friends, and new teachers. The week began with an Orientation Day and ice-breaking sessions, helping students and teachers connect, feel comfortable, and build trust from day one.
Throughout the week, students attended trial classes to explore different subjects and programmes before making their final decisions. Our teachers took time to clearly explain the syllabus, expectations, assignments, and learning pathways, so students know what lies ahead in the coming months.
At our school, we strongly believe in the value that every student matters. With our motto โNo student was left behindโ, students are nurtured with love and care, encouraged to ask questions, discuss ideas, and confidently present their thoughts in class.
Learning here is not just about academics โ itโs about growth, confidence, and support.
๐ฑ To all our new students, welcome to the beginning of an exciting chapter.
๐ฉ If youโre looking for a supportive and engaging Pre-University journey, come and join us โ we would love to walk this journey with you!
