What a week itโs been! Even while juggling all the Chinese New Year orders, our cooking classes are still going strong ๐ช๐ So happy and grateful to meet all these lovely people โ such good vibes, good laughs, and of course, good food all around. Itโs always a pleasure sharing our local flavours and stories in the kitchen together ๐ฅ๐
Hope you enjoyed the cooking class as much as we did, and wishing you a safe, smooth, and happy trip here in Kuching, Sarawak! See you again someday โ until next time, later~ โจ

Last Fridayโs cooking class was extra special ๐
We had two beautiful ladies from Brunei joining us to experience cooking local food and learning more about our local produce.
Their favourite (and most interesting discovery)?
Eating dabai with soy sauce ๐โจ
Simple, but surprisingly good!
Thank you for being such lovely guestsโhope to see you again!

This week has been such a fun and joyful week at Indah House Kuching ๐ค
Our cooking class was filled with laughter, stories, and beautiful cultural exchanges. Beyond learning new flavours and local dishes, some of our guests even got to celebrate Chinese New Year a little early ๐งงโจ
There were brave moments of trying new fruits (yes, even the strong ones ๐), and for some, Sarawak became the perfect place to chase the sunshine after coming from countries wrapped in winter cold โ๏ธ
Grateful for these shared moments, warm kitchens, and new friendships formed around food. This is what cooking together is all about ๐ฅฐ๐ณ

What a heartwarming culinary adventure! ๐ค
We had the pleasure of welcoming two lovely Australian families, Charlieโs and Duncanโs, to our cooking class in Sarawak! From exploring vibrant local markets filled with durian, rambutan, mangosteen, and langsat, to cooking up a storm with authentic Sarawak dishesโevery moment was filled with laughter and delicious flavors. ๐ฅญ๐โจ
We made Sarawak Chicken Laksa, Pineapple Kerabu Salad, Nipa Palm Sugar Chicken, Jungle Fern with Pumpkin Coconut Gravy, and Ulam Rice. It was a feast for the senses and a celebration of culture! ๐ฝ๏ธ๐

This Tuesday marked a beautiful beginning โ our first 2026 cooking class ๐ฅฐ
Weโre so grateful to welcome our very first Native American family into our kitchen at Indah House Kuching.
From laughter to learning, they enjoyed discovering and tasting so many interesting local fruits, making the experience truly special for all of us ๐โจ
A heartfelt thank you to Bob Zakaria for bringing them to Indah House. Moments like these remind us that food truly connects hearts across cultures ๐ค๐

A little reward for Ms Piqah who is on a durian diet. Celebrating a great 1st day of our She-Hub programme.
Also my first time encountering Durian x Sagon. Sagon is made out of sago flour + rice flour + dessicated coconuts. It serves as a dip for durian and works the same for bananas.
Was it nice? Sagon was. Durian - not my thing but the rest enjoyed
