Kolej Kesihatan Awam

Sometime good thing has to come to an end..
The said club has since been closed decade ago due to one reason or another.
Nevertheless, we have had some great happenings
during its active period.
There were quite a few who had been quite successful practising the arts and leaving the kolej with massive knowledge of the arts of self defence.
If there was an opportunity to revive the martial arts of self defence in the said kolej we might be willing to take up the challenge again.
In the meantime, just await and moving on.. Cheeers.. God bless...

Presentation of Dan Certificates to those members who had passed their dans classing championship recently was held at Serian DBNA SBD Club's Dojang this morning Sunday, 4th May 2014 after the Gup's promotional exercise.
Altogether there were 8 exponents receiving their dan certificates.Among them were five members receiving their 1st Dan, one 2nd dan n two 4th dan.
.It was definitely due to their years of arduous training and their ability in thinking positively and able to gain control, basically and emotionally that put them to their present standing. It was our believe that the art would continue to be a great challenge and play a great part of their lives n we have every confidence that they would continue to pursue the art with greater efforts for better progress and be responsible in one way or another with its development for the benefit of all.
.And it had became compulsory or a must and definitely no compromise that all the exponents must receive a gift (canning) by their seniors and it was duly carried out with good intention. It was their discipline and mental training that enable them to stand strong and gladly appreciated the event.
.The Dan certificates were presented by the masters in attendance.
.The promotional exercise for a small number of Gup members went on smoothly..Majority had shown their characters when taking the floor and almost all had produced a satisfactory result as they had been training hard for the past months.

..the Club continued to provide once weekly training session on every Tuesday's evening at the Kolej's premises at Kota Santosa for its student members..
.as learnt from the resident sabomnim, Master Gabriel Chai, there had been several training sessions conducted since the beginning of the year..it was found members, old n new intakes had been practising very well..all had shown enthusiasm n determination n great efforts n commitment were never short off in the dojang..
..students of the Kolej were urged to join n participate for better fitness as well as learning some knowledge of self defence..enrollment for membership was still open and all r welcome..

.the Kolej SBD Club would resume training session for its members come 21st January, a Tuesday as reported by its resident sabomnim, Master Gabriel Chai ..
.apart from some of the existing members, it was expected some new recruits from the new intakes of the Kolej would be joining the Club..
.Last year members had been very determined n enthusiastic n majority of them had made in road in physical n in mental but, however, most of them had graduated in their studies n left the Kolej.
. This year around the Club was hoping more student members would join n participate in the training to promote a better n healthy life style as well as learning the fundamental knowledge of self defence...
.Master Gabriel Chai, a very experience sabomnim n had been involved in the promotion n development of the art of SBD for the past 3 decades would continue to conduct training for the members of the Kolej Club at Kota Santosa.

…the championship at Kpg Pichin for all members of SBD clubs on 26th October 2013 had ended with a good note..many went home with medals though there could be disappointment for some but, however, the experience they gained would never be forgotten n could be useful as their stepping stone for future adventure apart from making new friends n having the thrills of the high density of competitions…
.the masters n the black belts hv their hands full…working restlessly as well as having a good time mingling around with other comrades during recess n the participants of boys n girls n some adults were given the opportunity to show their skills competitively in hyungs n il soo s*k dae ryun..there was funs as well as disappointments for some as fear had got better of them..
.importantly apart from gaining the experience of competitions, everyone had made new friends ..new comrades..enjoying goodwill n harmony in the spirit of oneness..one big community ..one big family…

..the standing on 2 beds of raw eggs by Master Michael Linau n on it negotiating il soo s*k dae ryun, power breaking by Kirk Watson n Paul, illustrations of stick n dae ryun by 1st Kup Gup members n finally the prize giving by Tua Kpg. En. Richard Ri-oi Lagit
..all masters n black belts had their hand full working restlessly throughout the day while participating members gave their best abilities to win medals in a courteous manner ...
.whatever, the day ended with everyone tired but still in high spirit n with a big smile..believing in themselves the contributions they put in to the success of the day's event...cheers n soobahk till we meet again...

.the one-day championship organised by the school club held at Kpg.Pichin Community Hall on Saturday, 26th October 2013 went on smoothly in a great spirit of comradeship, harmony, goodwill, many cheers n laughs..
.the tournament was graced by the Tua Kampong, Encik Richard Ri-oi, parents of the participants n residents of the kampong...all of them were very patience, staying on till the end.. giving us so much moral support..En. Richard was given the honour to give away the medals to all the winning participants n closed the tournament with some good words n advises..
..some 200 participants from SBD clubs in Kuching, Kota Samarahan n Serian District took part n all the clubs dispersed with at least a medal or two..everyone was in high spirit, enjoying every minute of their times rubbing shoulders with other comrades, taking photos n giving their best in the tournament..
.the highlights were the black belts fighting for their medals in the free hand combat, the illustration of stick by Master Michael Linau, the standing on 2 beds of raw egg while negotiating the il soo s*k dae ryun...
.all the masters n black belts were given a souvenir ..a blue cotton bag with the crest of SBD printed on it n in great appreciation a pendant was presented to En Richard for his attendance n good times with us..
..all credits should be given to Master Hollis Aloysius n Master Wilfred Jameson n their team for the successful running of the tournament..
.the tournament ended in a high note with everyone shouting....sooooobah....k..

..a small number of gup members of the school club took their first upgrading test on Sunday, 6th October 2013..a few number of them had taken study leave for their public examination ..the PMR N SPM...
.a total of 4 student members from Kpg.Kerumboi SBD Club also joined them n took the test..
..generally, all had taken the test very seriously n very determined to do well..though it was their first attempt majority of the members overcame their fear n gave a perfect challenge to do well to earn themselves a direct promotion to the next grade of belt forthwith...
.the examiners were Master George Sim of the Academy n Master Nailson Nojeck, the resident sabomnim of both clubs.. senior black belt, Jovenseki K.Santoryu was appointed the panjang n Cikgu Harmon Henry, Teacher-in-charge of the school Club also attended..
