Teachers, educators, and school administrators across the state are doing heroic work to educate Wisconsin’s children – but every year, they are asked to do more with less and less 📉
72 districts are asking their communities to approve more K-12 funding through referendum this April just to fund basic, essential services. The Wisconsin legislature must fulfill its constitutional obligation and fund WI public schools. The Wisconsin Constitution guarantees every child the fundamental right of access to a sound basic education, without tuition. But the state legislature has failed to adequately fund public schools and fulfill its obligation to our public schools.
Now, our public schools are unable to operate without disproportionate funding from local taxpayers, test scores are falling, and kids aren't receiving equal opportunities for a quality education. We’re a plaintiff in a landmark lawsuit to demand the legislature fulfill its obligation to fund our public schools. Learn about the case via our link in bio 📝
