As artists, we welcome collective momentum toward environmental consciousness. However, it is equally important to recognize that behind certain artistic approaches lie years of documented experimentation, research, proposal development, material exploration, and creative labour shared in good faith through professional conversations.

The sunflower always turns toward the light. But when its journey ends, can it bring life to the dark depths of our oceans?
โFor this new 5-piece individual 3D canvas series under ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ป ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐,discarded post-consumer ๐ฟ๐๐๐ง ๐ฝ๐๐๐ช๐ฉรฉ ๐๐๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐,bottles and caps have been reclaimedโtreating this plastic not as waste, but as a premium, vibrant artistic medium.
โSet against a heavy, deeply textured blue sea, this iconic packaging undergoes a primal metamorphosis. The yellow plastic is shattered, melted, and layered into raw, intentionally crude marine lifeโthe rugged shell of a sea turtle, the fluid form of a seahorse, a golden fish, a jellyfish, and a wave cresting in defiance.
โEmbracing Wabi-sabi, these rough, imperfect textures turn HIMAWARIโs signature sunflower gold into a permanent symbol of Mottainai and ocean conservation. Beauty shouldn't cost the earth. It should preserve it.

Built from discarded office paper, this tactile seascape transforms waste into a reflection on climate instability, overconsumption, and survival. The textured ocean surfaces echo rising floods and blocked urban waterways, while the small isolated boat symbolizes human vulnerability within environmental uncertainty. Though paper is biodegradable, excessive waste still burdens ecosystems when society treats materials as disposable. Through upcycling, the work reclaims forgotten paper as memory, resilience, and sensory experience.

Not all minds think in straight lines.
Neurodivergent individuals often experience the world through shifting layers of thought, sensation, focus, and emotion. Traditional notebooks โ structured, uniform, and linear โ do not always support these ways of processing.
โBetween Layersโ was developed as a response to this gap.
This project explores how design can adapt to different cognitive experiences rather than forcing individuals to adapt to rigid systems.
The journal consists of a two-flap outer structure enclosing a removable booklet made from multiple textured and colored papers. Each element is intentional:
โข Soft surfaces offer calm and grounding
โข Rough textures reflect overwhelm or intensity
โข Transparent sheets represent uncertainty and layered thinking
โข Crushed and irregular materials express pressure and fragmentation
There is no fixed sequence.
No required order.
Users can move freely โ skip pages, return, rearrange, or simply interact through touch.
This journal is not only for writing.
It is for sensing, pausing, organizing thoughts, or releasing them.
The purpose is not productivity.
The purpose is accommodation and expression.
By introducing varied textures and non-linear structure, the journal supports: โข sensory regulation
โข emotional expression
โข flexible thinking patterns
โข personal interaction without pressure
โBetween Layersโ positions design as a tool for inclusion โ where materials, structure, and interaction respond to human diversity.
This work is part of an ongoing exploration by Midori Masa, focusing on sustainability, material innovation, and human-centered creative practices.
An approach where art, research, and environment intersect to create meaningful, functional experiences.
Because not every mind fits within structure โ
some exist between layers.

๐ GLOBAL INNOVATION: THE KYOTO SUCCESS & THE ART OF TRUE SUSTAINABILITY
๐ฏ๐ต
โFrom the Green Canvas Administration Team
โWe are back.
And we have returned with proof that true innovation transcends borders, titles, and talk.
โ๐จ THE AWARD-WINNING IMPACT
โOur signature 3D mixed-media pieceโan innovation born from discarded E-Waste (CDs) and nature's remnantsโhas officially been recognized at the Kyoto Waste Art Innovation Summit. This wasn't just an exhibition; it was a victory for sustainable storytelling.
โ๐ค THE POWER OF THE COLLECTIVE
โThis achievement is the result of three months of relentless hard work, commitment, and raw dedication. We collaborated with a global team from every corner of the worldโfrom the Caribbean to Scandinavia, from Japan to the Middle East, from India to Greenland, from Indonesia to South Africa , from Gautamala to Scotland.
โThe Standard: In Kyoto and Tokyo, no one asked for a family tree. No one cared about a CV or a "status" check.
โThe Focus: Race, religion, and profession were invisible. Only the common goal remained: solving the global waste crisis through creative sustainability.
โ๐ฏ๐ต JAPAN VS. ๐คฎTHE "POSH" PRETENDERS๐ป
โWe extend our deepest gratitude to our organizers in Kyoto and Tokyo. As leaders of a well-developed nation, they displayed the high-level attitude required to change the world. They didn't need a photo op; they understood the message delivered through the art.
โThe Contrast is Undeniable:
While global leaders in developed nations are busy implementing solutions, we see a stark difference in "developing" mindsets. We see:
โThe "Posh" Ignorance: Organizations that talk in grand, expensive English over the phone, yet in face-to-face discussions, lack the basic brain-power to understand how a single piece of upcycled art can spark a sustainability revolution.
โThe Social Media "Heroes"๐คฟ ๐๐ฆช
Those who do "wonders" on Facebook to secure foreign grants and aids, only to go silent after attempting to harvest the creativity and knowledge of others.
โThe Fake Collaborators: Those who send official emails of partnership only to avoid calls when it is time for real work.
THE SHADOW OBSERVERS & COPY-CAT CULTURE ๐ฝ๐ป๐ป
โFinally, we see youโthe ones who watch from the shadows. To those who never "Follow" or "Like," yet constantly visit our page to harvest our original ideas and replicate our 3D innovations: Imitation is not flattery when it lacks integrity.
โ๐ THE MESSAGE
โA small piece of discarded plastic, when touched by innovation, carries more weight than a thousand empty corporate speeches.
That is called Development. To our international mission team: Thank you for the "absorbing power" and the teamwork. To the rest: We are no longer wasting energy on those who seek fame over impact.
โGreen Canvas is moving forward. At a global pace.

Green Canvas Global Expansion
๐๐จ๐๐จ
โIMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
โ"Following the immense success of our recent participation in the Kyoto Art Exhibition, Green Canvas is entering an exciting new chapter. ๐๐ฟ
โDue to a significant surge in international demand and high-level interest in our sustainable art innovations, our lead artist and the entire Green Canvas team are now fully dedicated to preparing for upcoming prestigious exhibitions in Kyoto and Tokyo, alongside several other Global Art & Innovation Summits.
โTo ensure we meet these international commitments and continue pushing the boundaries of eco-conscious art, we have decided to take a strategic break from our Facebook updates. This will allow our team to focus entirely on the studio and the high-demand production required for these world-class events.
โWe are incredibly proud of the 'Green Canvas' community we have built here. While we are silent on this platform, we are working harder than ever behind the scenes to bring sustainable art to the world stage.
โStay tuned for the future of innovation.
โBest regards,
The Green Canvas Administration Team

Kogare-Rebirth: The Alchemy of Residue
๐ผ๐จ๐ฏ๐ต๐๐ฌ๐ด๐ด๏ธ๐๏ธ๐ฏ๐ต
Debuting today at the Kyoto Architectural Gallery, Kogare-Rebirth is a featured collection of eight original artworks that bridge Japanese tradition with radical sustainability. This series explores the "circularity of beauty" by breathing new life into the "unwanted."
โEach of my eight pieces is meticulously hand-crafted from salvaged papers treated with a controlled burnt effect to replicate the organic depth of sumi-e ink. I have integrated discarded plastic straws and household waste as primary materials, transforming common pollutants into the structural soul of the artโfrom the crest of a wave to the delicate ribs of a sensu fan.
โDisplayed alongside a select group of Japanese artists, this collection creates a dialogue between Kyotoโs historical aesthetics and modern environmental consciousness. Following this premiere, these artworks will join a prestigious institutional rotation, traveling to various venues across Kyoto to inspire a future where waste is reimagined as a cultural treasure.
