The 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐱 (𝐂𝐃𝐌𝐈) Outreach Programme continued its engagement with industry players through a focused session with members of the 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐚 (𝐌𝐁𝐀𝐌).

The programme addressed what contractors actually want to know: how digitalisation translates into measurable gains. Key solutions presented included 𝐁𝐈𝐌, 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, and 𝐂𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲—framed around improving productivity, reducing risk, and strengthening project delivery.

Opening remarks by 𝐌𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐥 𝐇𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐝 (𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫, 𝐂𝐈𝐃𝐁 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐚) set the direction for industry-wide adoption. 𝐓𝐬. 𝐀𝐳𝐫𝐚 𝐅𝐚𝐤𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐚, 𝐂𝐈𝐃𝐁 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 provided clarity on BIM certification pathways—an area many contractors struggle to navigate—while 𝐑𝐚𝐯𝐢 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫, 𝐌𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐫. 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 demonstrated practical Digital Construction Management applications already being deployed in the field.

This session was not theoretical. It was about implementation—what works, what scales, and what the industry needs to prioritise next.

We were honoured to welcome 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐛𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐤𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐤 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐚 (𝐏𝐀𝐌) 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 for a productive courtesy visit, led by 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐫. 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐤 𝐛𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐛𝐝 𝐆𝐡𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐫.

The discussion focused on opportunities to collaborate to advance BIM awareness and training initiatives for the benefit of PAM Southern Chapter members. We also gained valuable insights into the 𝐊𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐑𝐈 programme — a collaborative skills development centre dedicated to digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and strengthening industry capabilities through strategic public-private partnerships. This initiative aims to enhance professional competitiveness, unlock business opportunities, and expand access to international markets.

We were pleased to host a technical visit by 𝐊𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐣 𝐕𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧, 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧, to the myBIM Centre, providing students with early exposure to Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology and its role in the construction industry.

The visit involved 29 students from the Diploma in Construction Technology programme, led by Ts. Irfahaizah Saad, accompanied by 4 lecturers.

The session highlighted potential career pathways and opportunities for students pursuing BIM, including roles in digital construction, coordination, and project management.

Students were also given the opportunity to explore the facilities at the myBIM Centre, gaining first-hand insight into industry-standard tools, software, and learning environments that are shaping the future of construction.

We look forward to supporting the next generation of talent in embracing digital transformation within the built environment.

We were pleased to host a technical visit by the 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 at CIDB Digital, led by 𝐑𝐚𝐣𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐑𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐥, 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫, focusing on the adoption of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in landscape development.

The session covered BIM awareness, available training programmes, and potential areas for collaboration, including the development of BIM for Landscape modules, joint training initiatives, and pilot projects.

An open discussion was also held to exchange insights on challenges, best practices, and opportunities in integrating digital solutions within landscape projects.

The visit also introduced the myDigital Contractor platform, which supports the identification of qualified contractors with the right digital competencies, thereby improving project delivery and quality outcomes.
