MAY IS FOR HEALTHY HEROES! 🦸♀️
We are so excited to announce our theme for the month of May: The Healthy Hero Program! This month, our students will be embarking on a special mission to learn how to keep their bodies, minds, and environments safe and strong.
Our weekly missions include:
Week 1: My Body’s Shield – Focusing on hygiene, proper handwashing, and dental care.
Week 2: Fuel for the Engine – Exploring nutrition, "Always vs. Sometimes" foods, and the importance of drinking water.
Week 3: Safety Detectives – Learning about physical safety, hazard hunts, and emergency basics.
Week 4: Strong Mind, Strong Body – Diving into well-being, including sleep, exercise, and recognizing emotions.

🌱 Nurturing Nature at Alecia Montessori 🌱
"The child has a mind able to absorb culture." – Maria Montessori.
This April, our "culture" is all about the Earth! 🌎 Our students are learning the Montessori practice of "Care of the Environment" on a global scale. From tending to our school garden to learning about renewable energy, we are showing our little ones how beautiful and fragile our world can be.
Activities this month include:

✅ Nature scavenger hunts.
✅ Eco-friendly art projects using recycled materials.

Friendship is in the Air this March! ✨
Our new monthly theme has officially launched: "My Best Friends!"
At Alecia Montessori, we believe that learning how to be a good friend is just as important as learning ABCs and 123s. This month, our classrooms are filled with collaborative projects, partner games, and lots of "high-fives" as we celebrate the joy of companionship.
🌟 All About Me – Learning About My Culture 🌟
A child’s understanding of culture begins at home and grows stronger at school. Through this meaningful theme, we help children explore their family traditions, values, language, and celebrations in a fun and engaging way.
By combining learning from home and school, children build confidence, pride in their identity, and respect for diversity and all while learning through play and joyful experiences.
A strong sense of self begins with understanding who we are. ✨
Exercise and Active Play.
Exercise is important for children to stay healthy, strong, and happy! Through activities like running, jumping, dancing, and simple games, children:
Develop gross motor skills (balance, coordination, strength)
Boost energy and focus for learning
Learn teamwork and social skills through group play
Build confidence and self-discipline

👨👩👧👦 February Theme: My Amazing Family 💖
Family is a child’s first home, first school, and first source of love. Throughout February, our children are exploring the theme “My Amazing Family”, where they learn about the people who care for them, support them, and make them feel safe and loved.
Through conversations, storytelling, role-play, art activities, and sharing sessions, children learn to:
🌸 Identify family members and their roles
🌸 Express love, care, and appreciation for their family
🌸 Understand that every family is unique and special
🌸 Develop respect, empathy, and strong emotional bonds
This theme also supports children’s language development, social-emotional growth, and self-identity, helping them feel proud of their family and themselves.

As part of our January theme: All About Me, our children participated in a Show & Tell session – My Favourite Toy. This activity encourages children to express themselves, speak confidently in front of friends, and share something special that represents who they are.

🎨✋ Hand Colouring Activity – All About Me ✋🎨
January is all about discovering ourselves! As part of our “All About Me” theme, our children enjoyed a fun and meaningful hand colouring activity.
Through this activity, children explored their identity, learned about their body parts, and expressed themselves creatively using colours. It also helped to develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and confidence as they proudly shared, “This is me!”
We love seeing our little ones learn through play, creativity, and self expression in a joyful environment 💕
