Early Pregnancy Precautions ๐คฐ๐ป
The first two to three months of pregnancy are a critical period for embryo development and the most susceptible to miscarriages. Therefore, paying attention to precautions during the early stages of pregnancy is extremely important!!!
Here are some precautions for pregnant women during the early stages:
๐ 1. Limit Sexual Activity ๐ณ
Intimate relations between couples are a normal part of married life. However, once the wife becomes pregnant, how to approach sexual activity becomes a matter of high concern. To ensure the baby's health, sexual in*******se should be avoided during the first three months of pregnancy.
๐ 2. Seek Medical Attention for These Conditions ๐ฏ
For pregnant women, ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage are the most dangerous concerns during the early stages. Both situations can lead to abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. Therefore, if a pregnant woman experiences abdominal pain or vaginal bleeding, seeking medical attention promptly is necessary.
๐ 3. Supplement Folic Acid to Prevent Fetal Deformities ๐ฅฆ๐๐
The first three months of pregnancy are a crucial period for the development of the fetal neural tube. Expectant mothers should avoid adverse factors like smoking, alcohol, harmful chemicals, recently renovated houses, and poorly ventilated environments. Strengthening immunity and avoiding viral infections are also important, and self-medication should be avoided.
To prevent fetal deformities, pregnant women should start taking folic acid from the early stages of pregnancy (preferably even before conception). Foods rich in folic acid include amaranth leaves, spinach, lettuce, asparagus, beans, yeast, animal liver, apples, citrus fruits, and more.
๐ 4. Early Pregnancy Checkup ๐ฉบ๐
After confirming pregnancy, expectant mothers should undergo their first prenatal checkup at around 12 weeks of pregnancy. They should also establish a maternity care booklet and undergo regular checkups.
๐ 5. Prenatal Diagnosis ๐ฉบ๐
Prenatal diagnosis can exclude major abnormalities and can be done as early as 8 weeks of pregnancy. Currently, the most common chromosome testing methods are chorionic villus sampling and peripheral blood screening. If necessary, amniocentesis can be performed between weeks 16-20 for further confirmation.
๐ 6. Avoid Over-Nourishing ๐ฅฆ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐๐ฅ
During the early stages of pregnancy, morning sickness can affect the appetite of expectant mothers. In terms of diet, excessive nutritional supplementation is generally not recommended. It's best to follow personal preferences and eat what you like. For pregnant women experiencing severe vomiting, it's important to consume light and easily digestible foods. Once morning sickness subsides in the second trimester, there's time to catch up on nutrition.
Spicy foods and foods with extreme temperature properties should be consumed in moderation during pregnancy.
๐ 7. Be Cautious with Radiation ๐ถ๐ฅ๏ธ๐ฑ
It's still uncertain which radiations in daily life might affect the fetus. Therefore, experts suggest that pregnant women keep a distance from the TV while watching, step away from the microwave when it's in use, and avoid keeping cell phones close to their chests.
๐ 8. Prioritize Rest ๐งโโ๏ธ๐ด
Expectant mothers often experience fatigue during the early stages of pregnancy, making proper rest important. Overexertion can lead to miscarriage, especially for older mothers, those with a history of miscarriages, and those with certain chronic diseases. Rest is crucial during the early stages, and vigorous exercise and intense emotions should be avoided to maintain a positive mental state.
๐ 9. Cope with Morning Sickness ๐คฎ
Around half of pregnant women experience varying degrees of nausea and vomiting around week 6 of pregnancy. This is mainly due to increased levels of human chorionic gonadotropin in the blood. If the nausea and vomiting are tolerable, special treatment isn't necessary โ it's a normal physiological phenomenon. Maintaining a calm attitude, getting enough sleep, eating small meals frequently, and opting for bland, easily digestible foods can help.
If severe symptoms persist, such as continuous vomiting or an inability to eat or drink, medical attention is necessary to rule out hyperemesis gravidarum. This condition can cause electrolyte imbalances and is life-threatening, so it should not be overlooked.
