Rigging safety starts with traceability! 🏗️ ID and serial numbers are essential for all lifting appliances, allowing you to trace your gear back to its original manufacturing documents and test certificates throughout its service life. 👷‍♂️💪

Do you know the difference between proof load and safety factor? 🏗️ While both are critical, they represent very different limits for your rigging gear. Watch as we explain how each value is determined and why you shouldn't mix them up! 👷‍♂️💪

Is your rigging equipment truly traceable? 🏗️ For items like master links and chains that don't come with serial numbers, it’s a smart move to have them tested and serialized by your supplier. It makes future inspections and maintenance so much easier! 👷‍♂️💪

Don't assume every webbing sling is 7:1! 🛑 Different standards like ASME and BS 3481 change the requirements. Knowing your equipment standards is the key to keeping your site safe. 🏗️👷‍♂️

Every safe lift starts with proper equipment identification. Your chain slings MUST have clear, embossed markings for two things:
1️⃣ The Grade (like G80 for Grade 80)
2️⃣ The Manufacturer Traceability (like LTS for Lotus Lifting)

These stamps are your only proof that the chain is tied to official mill certificates and safety brochures. Without these markings, you have zero traceability and are introducing a massive safety risk to your site.

If it isn't marked, don't buy it and don't use it! 🛡️

Buying a new webbing sling? Don’t just take it out of the package and put it straight to work. 🛑

I'm Prem, your lifting and rigging guy. Before you make any lifts, you need to verify your gear. In today’s video, we are looking at a Lotus Lifting webbing sling to show you exactly what to check:

🔹 Find the Blue Label: This is standard on all webbing slings.
🔹 Check the Standard: Look for the specific standard it was manufactured to (like BS 3481 Part 2).
🔹 Verify the Safety Factor: Ensure the label dictates the correct safety factor (e.g., 6:1).
🔹 Match the Paperwork: Most importantly, ensure the technical details on the physical label perfectly match the Mill Certificate provided by the manufacturer.

In , I can't stress enough how important this documentation is for your site safety.

Welcome to Part 2 of our Thimble Eye vs. Soft Eye series! 🏗️⛓️

I'm Prem, your lifting and rigging guy. Today we are talking about the Thimble Eye. If you are doing hard rigging connections or sharp point lifting with shackles, this is what you need.

Why? Because the metal thimble protects the wire rope eye from getting crushed or frayed by the shackle. It’s all about protecting your gear so it stays reliable and safe for a much longer time.

At Prem Holdings, safety and equipment longevity go hand in hand. Got questions about this setup? Drop them in the comments below, and we might cover them in our next video! 👇

Ever wonder when you should use a Soft Eye instead of a Thimble Eye on your wire ropes? 🤔 Let’s talk about it!

I'm Prem, your lifting and rigging guy! Today, we are looking at the advantages of the Soft Eye. If you are working with bigger lifting hooks or trunnions—specifically where the D to d ratio is more than 1—the soft eye is your best friend. It gives you the extra room you need and protects the core of your wire rope from getting damaged or protruding over time. ⛓️

At Prem Holdings, we want to make sure you're using the right gear for the job. Got questions about this or anything else rigging-related? Put them in the comments below, and I’ll answer them in an upcoming video!

🏗️ SWL vs. WLL: Do you actually know the difference?

If you work in heavy lifting or rigging, you see these terms every day. But mixing them up can compromise your entire lifting plan.

Here is the simple breakdown:
🔹 WLL is the limit for one specific item (like the capacity stamped on a single shackle).
🔹 SWL is the overall safe load for your entire lifting setup once you connect multiple pieces of gear together.

SWL is NEVER stamped on a product—it must be calculated by a competent person!

Share this with your rigging crew to keep your site safe and compliant. 👇

⏱️ How long is your lifting load test ACTUALLY valid for?
Here is the standard rule for all lifting appliances: your load test is valid for a maximum of 12 months. 🗓️
However, high frequency of usage or harsh environments can shorten this window. The golden rule? NEVER exceed 12 months without a re-test. Don't risk your crew or your equipment. 🛡️
