SHAPE-SEA proudly presents the Research Grant Schemes (RGS), designed to play a critical role in advancing the vision and aims of SHAPE-SEA, particularly through its focus on knowledge production and strengthening the research capacities of scholars in the region. The grants support students, scholars, researchers, and academics in conducting empirical research on issues affecting marginalized and vulnerable communities—groups that remain underrepresented in regional human rights and peace spaces, discourses, and narratives.

✔ Open to Southeast Asian citizens based in the region

✔ Grant support: up to THB 35,000 (M.A.) and THB 70,000 (PhD)

🔍 Emerging Scholars (ES) Category
✔ Open to scholars and academics based in Southeast Asia/ASEAN
✔ Individual projects: applicant must be a Southeast Asian citizen based in the region
✔ Collaborative projects: lead must be a Southeast Asian citizen affiliated with a regional institution; co-researchers must also be affiliated scholars/academics
✔ Up to 3 members per team (including lead researcher)
✔ Grant support: up to THB 150,000 per project
