Honoured to be back for our 3rd year at the Career Fair 🤍
What a privilege it is to speak to the psychology cohorts this year! We had our Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) speak to the biggest crowd yet, and we truly loved the energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm from all the students 🔥
So encouraged to see the next generation so passionate about understanding behaviour, making a difference, and stepping into the field with purpose. We’re also grateful for the opportunity to advocate for and share more about Behaviour Psychology and Behaviour Analysis and the impact it can have in real lives.
Conversations like these remind us why we do what we do 🌱❤️

From fear to freedom 💉✨
What once felt overwhelming became a huge victory.
Through Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), we broke the experience down into small, manageable steps — practicing tolerance, running simulations, and building confidence at the child’s pace.
With consistency, reinforcement, and trust, this child was able to walk into the clinic and receive their vaccination calmly and without resistance 🙌
This is the heart of ABA:
✔️ Teaching real-life skills
✔️ Reducing fear through structured support
✔️ Helping children succeed beyond the therapy room
So proud of this brave milestone 💛
Progress happens when therapy meets real life!

🎓✨ A milestone worth celebrating! ✨🎓
As we start the new year in 2026, we’re celebrating 3 of our amazing clients transitioning into mainstream education — and our hearts are so full!
At Datakids, this has always been our goal:
👉 to equip children with the skills they need to return confidently into society, not to remain dependent on therapy forever.
Through evidence-based ABA therapy, consistent support, and close collaboration with families, we work toward building independence, communication, emotional regulation, and learning readiness — so our children can thrive beyond the therapy room.
Mainstreaming isn’t the end of the journey, but a powerful next step — and we’re deeply honoured to have been part of it.
To our little champions, families, and therapists who walked this journey together — well done. We’re cheering you on as you step into this new season! 💙🌱

There is a really great thread on LinkedIn right now, .
Let’s chat about RBT’s on this lovely Friday.
To the list below I would add the following caveats or new flags:
- Not all BCBAs are on-site. That isn’t necessarily a red flag. I have clients located all over the country (so obviously, I won’t be on-site), BUT, I am in regular, daily contact with those RBTs. Since I work from home, I’m actually far more available to take a text or call than if I was driving from client to client all day
- Companies paying/hiring RBTs as an independent contractor/1099. Run
- Companies that lack an onboarding or initial training at all, even if it’s a HR review of policies and company structure. The BCBA likely can’t bill to train you, so that means you will just be thrown into the fire
- ANY kind of mandatory length of employment, or loss of finances if you leave before a certain date, non-compete, etc. No.
- A complete lack of clinical consideration when assigning cases. If you are a brand new RBT with no experience, you should not be tossed onto the most difficult cases at the company. Yikes
- Ask about the cancelation policy. Sessions get canceled. For all kinds of reasons. When that happens, is there anything else you can do to makeup those hours? Super important to know upfront
- Unethical clinical practices are built into company operations. For example, you are regularly asked to work with multiple clients to cover lunch, or breaks. You regularly see the BCBAs targeting eye contact, stimming, or implementing punishment procedures in the BIP. ALL your clients seem to have 30, 40 hours a week, whether its needed or not. You regularly see clients given snacks or food they did not bring from home/was not approved by their parents. Or, the clients goals never seem to change or get updated.....they've had the exact same targets for months. These are all clinical red flags, some reportable, and should have you looking for the exit.
