Joint attention comes before talking 🤍
Before words appear, children need to learn how to share attention, connect, and stay engaged with another person.
If your child isn’t talking yet, don’t panic - this doesn’t mean you’re behind.
It means we go back to the foundation.
✨ Comment instead of questioning
✨ Follow your child’s lead
✨ Imitate their actions
✨ Use songs and pause
✨ Use sensory play with praise
These small, everyday moments build something powerful.
💡 Connection, not perfection.
When connection grows, communication follow, in its own time.

🗣️ Communication is more than just words.
It’s how children express themselves, build relationships, learn, and feel empowered 🐥
Every time your child says “I want…”, “No!”, “What’s that?”, “It’s a cat!” - they’re practicing skills that will shape their independence and confidence.
💛 In therapy, we don’t only work on speech sounds, we build the functions of communication: requesting, rejecting, asking, answering, following instructions, telling stories, complaining, commenting, and even giving instructions.
✨ And most importantly, communication skills allow children to tell us if something happened, or if something is bothering them.
Without these skills, they might stay silent about pain, discomfort, or even unsafe situations.
👶 Every child deserves a voice, in whatever form it comes.

✨ Building a Secure Bond with Your Child ✨
Before words, comes safety.
Before language, comes connection.
Before speech, comes trust. ❤️
A secure bond isn’t something that happens overnight. It’s formed in the small, everyday moments, the ones that often go unnoticed but leave the biggest imprint on your child’s heart.
💛 When you respond to their cries or laughter, you teach them, “My voice matters.”
💛 When you play and follow their lead, you tell them, “I’m interested in you.”
💛 When you pause to listen, even when they can’t find the words, you show them, “I’m here, and I understand.”
💛 When you repair after losing patience, you remind them, “Love stays, even when it’s hard.”
These moments may seem ordinary to you, but to your child, they are everything. 🌿
Because when a child feels safe, seen, and soothed…
their brain relaxes,
their curiosity blooms,
and their words begin to grow. 🗣️✨
As a speech therapist, I always tell parents, communication is not just about talking. It’s about connection.
Your presence, your tone, your touch, your gaze, these are the first “words” your child ever learns.
So keep showing up, not perfectly, but patiently.
Because you are your child’s safe place, their comfort zone, their world. 💕

If your child has a speech delay, take a deep breath. 🌸
You’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it all out overnight.
Many parents worry when their child isn’t talking “on time.” But every child’s journey is unique, some take a little longer to find their words, and that’s okay. What matters most is giving them the right kind of support early on. 💬✨
Start with small, steady steps:
👀 Observe your child’s responses, gestures, and sounds.
👂 Check their hearing, even mild issues can affect speech.
🧩 Book a speech assessment with a certified Speech Therapist.
🏡 Support them at home through play, reading, and meaningful connection.
Remember, connection comes before communication.
When your child feels seen, heard, and loved, words begin to bloom. 🌼
