April Memory Café at Seri Delima ADUN
April 4, 2026
Today’s Memory Café at Seri Delima ADUN was a heartwarming gathering for seniors, caregivers, and the community. Memory Cafés are friendly, social spaces designed for people living with dementia and their families to connect, share experiences, and enjoy meaningful activities.
This initiative is supported by Penang Dementia Association (PDA), coordinated by SITI Network.
In 2026, we are taking Memory Cafés to various ADUNs to raise awareness and encourage active aging initiatives that help prevent dementia.
Today, participants enjoyed an introduction to vocal training with Adele, learning how to use core muscles and breathing techniques to project their voices.
We were delighted to have YB Connie drop by to support the event. A music lover herself, YB Connie believes in the power of music to bring people together. She has even composed a Hokkien song encouraging the younger generation to return home for CNY, especially as many seniors in her Glades constituency live alone while their children work overseas.
After our group photo, Raffel’s Evergreen, led by retiree Phaik Gek, entertained everyone with a medley of songs.
This homegrown singing group began practicing in the park after their exercise sessions, now rehearsing twice weekly and invited to perform at community events.
Before tea, Li Li from SITI Network led a towel stretch dance to a cover of Mambo Italiano by Phaik Gek and introduced the Niko Niko Run, adding a fun, active element to the café.
We also had Milly from JPWK Seri Delima share more about the activities her team and volunteers organize to support the community.
The café wrapped up with a cozy tea break featuring comfort Malaysian food—bihun goreng and vadai—perfect for a casual chat and laughter.

When creative meets collaboration ✨
Learning never stops at SITI Network 🎶
With vocal teacher Adele Khor from Adele Academy and Phaik Gek, leader of Raffel’s Evergreen, we’re exploring our upcoming vocal classes for seniors.
At SITI Network, we focus on lifelong learning for retirees—always with a touch of fun.
Age is not a boundary; it’s another chapter to learn, discover, and try things you never had time for in your younger years.
“You don’t stop learning because you grow old; you grow old because you stop learning.” ✨
