🎮 Our students from 6ème to 2nde took part in the Nuit du Code (NDC), a Scratch and Python programming marathon (using the Pyxel game engine) open to French and French-speaking schools around the world.

Working in teams of two or three across six categories, students had six hours (or less for Cycle 3 students) to design and program a game using Scratch or Python based on a given game universe.

The main evaluation criteria were gameplay, creativity, and originality.

🎮 Nos élèves de la 6ème à la 2nde ont participé à la Nuit du Code (NDC), un marathon de programmation Scratch et Python (avec le moteur de jeu Pyxel) ouvert aux établissements scolaires français et francophones du monde entier.

Répartis en équipes de deux ou trois dans six catégories, les élèves disposaient de six heures (ou moins pour les élèves du cycle 3) pour concevoir et programmer un jeu avec Scratch ou Python à partir d’un univers imposé.

Les principaux critères d’évaluation étaient la jouabilité, la créativité et l’originalité.

🌏✨ The first edition of the PROZAP Theatre in Modern Languages for the Asia-Pacific zone took place from May 11 to 15 at the Alexandre Yersin French School in Hanoi 🎭

Around one hundred students from the French schools of Bangkok, Hanoi, Kuala Lumpur, Phnom Penh, Seoul, Tokyo, and Vientiane gathered in Hanoi to take part in this wonderful first artistic, collective, and human adventure for the region.

The programme included theatre workshops where our students learned a great deal, cultural exchanges with the other delegations, a wide variety of performances (mime, improvisation, comedy, singing, music), as well as many memorable moments of sharing and connection.

The students shared their passion for theatre, created together, imagined original stage productions, and performed highly creative shows 🎭🎤

Congratulations to our talented students from the English Drama AES programme and the theatre option, who were highly committed and made the most of every moment in a wonderful atmosphere 🙌🏻🎭

🌏✨ La première édition du PROZAP Théâtre en langues vivantes de la zone Asie-Pacifique a eu lieu du 11 au 15 mai au Lycée français Alexandre Yersin de Hanoï 🎭 

Une centaine d’élèves des délégations des lycées français de Bangkok, Hanoï, Kuala Lumpur, Phnom Penh, Séoul, Tokyo et Vientiane se sont retrouvés à Hanoï pour participer à cette grande première aventure artistique, collective et humaine de la zone.

Au programme : des ateliers de pratique théâtrale où nos élèves ont beaucoup appris, des échanges culturels avec les autres délégations, des spectacles à foison (mimes, improvisations, comédies, chants, musique) ainsi que de beaux moments de partage.

Les élèves ont partagé leur goût du théâtre, créé ensemble, imaginé des mises en scène originales et monté des spectacles pleins de créativité 🎭🎤 

Bravo à nos talentueux élèves de l’AES Théâtre en anglais et de l’option théâtre, qui ont été très investis et ont profité de chaque instant dans la bonne humeur 🙌🏻🎭

✨ Europe Day 2026 was a wonderful celebration of culture, music, and unity!

The LFKL choir, together with students from DSKL as part of the Euro Campus partnership, proudly performed the Malaysian National Anthem and the European Union anthem, Ode to Joy, during the evening event held on Monday, 11 May 2026. 🎶🌍

Following the performance, students had the opportunity to visit the different European country delegations, discover their cultures and traditions, and enjoy a variety of European delicacies. 🥨🧀

A meaningful and enriching experience that celebrated diversity, openness, and European friendship. 💙

✨ La Journée de l’Europe 2026 a été une belle célébration placée sous le signe de la culture, de la musique et de l’unité !

La chorale du LFKL, aux côtés des élèves du DSKL dans le cadre du partenariat Euro Campus, a fièrement interprété l’hymne national malaisien ainsi que l’hymne de l’Union européenne, L’Ode à la joie, lors de la soirée du lundi 11 mai 2026. 🎶🌍

Après la représentation, les élèves ont eu l’opportunité de découvrir les stands des différentes délégations européennes, d’en apprendre davantage sur leurs cultures et traditions, tout en dégustant de nombreuses spécialités européennes. 🥨🧀

Une expérience enrichissante et conviviale autour du partage, de l’ouverture culturelle et de l’amitié européenne. 💙

🌍✨ On Earth Day, eco-delegates from LFKL and DSKL visited the Greater Action association in Ampang to learn more about the realities faced by Afghan refugees in Malaysia.

Students discovered the inspiring initiatives led by the association to support women and children through education, access to essential resources, and social support.

The visit also included an upcycling workshop where students transformed used t-shirts into creative and useful items alongside the women of the association. ♻️🧵

This meaningful experience strengthened their commitment to humanitarian, social, and environmental issues linked to the Sustainable Development Goals: SDG1, SDG4, SDG5, SDG10, SDG12

A huge thank you to Julie Das and the entire Greater Action team for their warm welcome and inspiring work. 💛

🌍✨ À l’occasion de la Journée de la Terre, les éco-délégués du LFKL et du DSKL ont visité l’association Greater Action à Ampang afin de mieux comprendre les réalités vécues par les réfugiés afghans en Malaisie.

Cette rencontre leur a permis de découvrir les actions menées par l’association pour soutenir les femmes et les enfants à travers l’éducation, l’accès aux ressources essentielles et l’accompagnement social.

Les élèves ont également participé à un atelier d’upcycling aux côtés des femmes de l’association, transformant des t-shirts usagés en objets utiles et créatifs. ♻️🧵

🎶✨ From April 6–11, LFKL choir students joined delegations from Singapore, Pondicherry, Jakarta, Bali and Ho Chi Minh City for the Prozap Chorasies event.

Through workshops, intensive rehearsals and shared experiences, our students enjoyed an unforgettable musical and cultural journey. 🌍🎤

Performing four-part harmonies, a wide-ranging repertoire and even choreography, they showcased the full extent of their talent and skills. ✨

During the opening ceremony, the Kuala Lumpur choir proudly performed the traditional Malaysian song “Rasa Sayang”, warmly received by the audience.

🎶✨ Du 6 au 11 avril, les choristes du LFKL ont participé aux Chorasies Prozap aux côtés de délégations venues de Singapour, Pondichéry, Jakarta, Bali et Ho Chi Minh.

Entre ateliers, répétitions intensives et moments de partage, nos élèves ont vécu une expérience humaine et artistique inoubliable. 🌍🎤

Chants à quatre voix, répertoire très éclectique et même chorégraphies : ils et elles ont montré toute l’étendue de leurs compétences et de leur talent. ✨

Lors de la cérémonie d’ouverture, la chorale de Kuala Lumpur a interprété “Rasa Sayang”, une chanson traditionnelle malaisienne chaleureusement accueillie par le public.

🌍 Geology Field Trip – Biology & Geology

Our 11th and 12th grade students explored the Ipoh region in search of geological clues to reconstruct the complex history of Peninsular Malaysia.

From folds and reverse faults to lithographic limestones, hematite, granitic sand, and even Neolithic rock paintings, they developed their scientific reasoning with support from the Ipoh Geological Museum. 🔍

The trip also included a camp evening 🔥 and an exciting rafting experience on the Sungai Kampar River 🌊

A rewarding outdoor experience before the final weeks of exams!

🌍 Sortie géologique – Spécialité SVT

Nos élèves de Première et Terminale spécialité SVT, accompagnés de leurs enseignants, sont partis à la recherche d’indices géologiques autour d’Ipoh afin de reconstituer l’histoire complexe de la Malaisie péninsulaire.

Entre plis et failles inverses, calcaires lithographiques, hématite, arène granitique et même peintures rupestres du Néolithique, ils ont développé leur raisonnement scientifique, avec l’appui du musée géologique d’Ipoh. 🔍

Le séjour s’est poursuivi avec une soirée conviviale au camp 🔥 et une descente en rafting sur la Sungai Kampar 🌊

Une belle immersion en pleine nature pour aborder sereinement les dernières semaines avant les examens !

🌍 Earth Day April 22nd at LFKL!

Today, the whole LFKL community came together to celebrate and protect our planet 💚

✨ Primary students created a “nearly plastic-free” museum, an inspiring initiative led by our ESD team to raise awareness about sustainability.

✍️ Secondary students shared their “Words for the Earth”: messages of hope, gratitude, and commitment to our environment.

A great collective effort to act, reflect, and build a more sustainable future 🌱

🌍 Journée de la Terre le 22 avril au LFKL !

Aujourd’hui, toute la communauté du LFKL s’est mobilisée pour célébrer et protéger notre belle planète 💚

✨ Les élèves du primaire ont créé ensemble un musée « presque sans plastique », une initiative inspirante portée par nos équipes EDD pour sensibiliser à des pratiques plus durables.

✍️ Les élèves du secondaire ont, quant à eux, écrit des « mots pour la Terre » : messages d’espoir, de gratitude et d’engagement pour notre environnement.

Une belle énergie collective pour agir, réfléchir et construire un avenir plus responsable 🌱

Malaysian author Shi-Li Kow 🌟
Shi-Li Kow, whose novel The Sum of Our Follies won the 2018 Prix du roman étranger for its French translation La somme de nos folies, met with students from Grades 8, 9, and 10 of the British International Section.

She shared her journey, spoke about the importance of nurturing creativity and leaving a personal mark, and explained how to find inspiration as well as the stages of the publishing process.

Students then took part in a rich and engaging Q&A session.

Shi-Li Kow, dont le roman The Sum of Our Follies a remporté en 2018 le prix du roman étranger dans sa traduction française La somme de nos folies, a rencontré les élèves de 4e, 3e et 2nde de la section internationale britannique.

Elle a partagé son parcours, évoqué l’importance de cultiver sa créativité et de laisser une empreinte personnelle, et expliqué comment trouver l’inspiration ainsi que les étapes du processus d’édition.

Les élèves ont ensuite pris part à une session de questions-réponses riche et engagée.
