Zero waste sushi 🍣 Bring your own chopsticks to avoid those pesky disposables and your own container for leftovers!

Being Zero waste can be that simple 👌

Do you bring your own cutlery out to dinner?

On Koh Rong island, Cambodia these kids were rummaging through bins and picking up plastic bottles along the beach to recycle

All these single use plastics were coming from the tourists visiting the island!

It's so easy to prevent plastic bottles washing up on the shores by simply bringing your own reusable bottle and refilling it

Do you try to prevent plastic waste when you travel?

Simplifying my beauty routine as been the best part of going Zero Waste. No more cotton makeup pads in the bin or boards of products under the bathroom sink

Simply water and a face scrubbie to wash my face and rosehip oil to moisturise

Have you swapped to a zero waste beauty routine yet?

A napkin is one of the handiest Zero Waste essentials you can bring along with you everyday

You can use it to wipe your hands, wrap up your dirty reusable cutlery, buy a snack on the go and even use it to wrap up gifts

While travelling through Asia I was constantly buying street food using my napkin to avoid single use plastic and wrappings. This was in Malaysia were I was constantly buying mouth watering treats such as custard tarts and Kaya puffs

Do you carry a reusable cloth napkin with you to avoid plastic?

Who doesn't love the sweet chewiness of a bubble tea? I definitely can't resist them but it's frustrating that they always come in a disposable plastic cup along with a single use straw, even when dining in!

While in the Philippines we stumbled across tons of stalls selling bamboo straws in El Nido and managed to find the perfect bubble tea straw, which even has the spike at the tip to puncture through the plastic lid

Even making the small change to bringing your own reusable straw can make a difference and start a movement

If you want to be a true Zero Waste warrior you could take your own cup or jar to be filled with your favourite bubble tea flavours

Have you tried buying bubble tea without plastic?

Travelling through Asia we really got to see the extend of our plastic problem. From plastic packaged everything to it all being discarded carelessly in the streets

This was in Malaysia where plastic bagged drinks are the norm for tea, coffee and even soft drinks. Theres even a mural in Ipoh dedicated to the tradition of using plastic bags for your morning take away coffee

While travelling we always tried to dine in for our tea and coffees, otherwise we were never refused for using our reusable cup for takeaways

It's the little things that can make a difference to the plastic culture we are firmly still holding on to

Bike shares are the perfect way to explore any city in an eco-friendly way 🚲 In Brisbane we have with 2000 bikes available to hire and explore the city

Theres even the odd electric scooter from just to be a little different

Beautifully wrapped produce at the markets in Myanmar. If only our local markets could banish plastic and use more sustainable methods like wrapping using banana leaves and natural fibres.
