SCIPS @ FOBISIA Primary Games
What an incredible few days at the Under-11 FOBISIA Games in Thailand from 1st–5th May! Competing against some of the strongest schools across the FOBISIA network, SCIPS students showcased outstanding talent, determination, and teamwork throughout a week of high-level competition - producing some truly remarkable results.
Our athletes delivered a superb performance to finish 2nd overall in athletics, with two school records broken in the boys’ 800m and boys’ javelin. Even more impressively, the boys’ javelin throw also set a brand-new FOBISIA record, surpassing the previous mark by an incredible four metres!
In the pool, SCIPS were crowned 1st overall in swimming, an outstanding achievement for the team. The boys’ freestyle and medley relay teams also set two new school records, adding to an already memorable week in the water.
Success continued in the team sports, with both our A and B teeball teams winning their respective competitions, while the girls’ football team were crowned champions on the final day to complete an exceptional tournament for SCIPS.
These achievements are the result of months of hard work, commitment, and dedication from all of our students. We are incredibly proud of every athlete who represented SCIPS with such pride, passion, and sportsmanship throughout the Games!

Year 2 Exit Point - A Day In The Life
Meet the Team Behind the Scene!
For our Exit Point, Year 2 focused on our school community and explored the many different job roles within our school - including some we had never even heard of before! The children became interviewers, preparing their own thoughtful questions to ask various members of staff about their roles and responsibilities at SCIPS. Using the information gathered from their interviews, they then created informative posters showcasing different staff members and the important work they do each day.
To conclude the project, the children were thrilled to present their posters to the Reception classes, helping to teach the younger children about the wide variety of jobs that help our school run smoothly.
Year 2 demonstrated fantastic cooperative skills throughout the process as they worked together to create their final posters. They also showed great confidence and maturity, truly reflecting our Expressive Personal Goal by speaking clearly, listening carefully, and showing respect towards one another and the staff members they interviewed. Well done, Year 2!

Year 1 Entry Point - Let's Go On A Holiday
Year 1 started a new IPC topic, Let’s Go on a Holiday. This year, they travelled to South Africa for a safari trip. Before the trip, they prepared important documents and packed their luggage. They made their passports and boarding passes and packed their bags following a checklist. Their passports and boarding passes were checked by staff at the SCIPS International Airport. They then went through a body scanner to ensure they were not carrying any sharp or dangerous objects. They finally boarded the SCIPS International airplane and experienced a smooth flight, enjoying snacks and juice, all thanks to Captain Adam and his crew. When the children landed in South Africa, they wasted no time and headed straight to the safari. In groups, they built tents and searched for safari animals. They found many animals and took lots of photos with them. It was such an amazing experience in the wild, and the children went home with many wonderful memories.

Year 3 Entry Point - Vanishing Rainforests
Last week, our Year 3 students packed their mosquito repellent, grabbed their clipboards, and set off on an exciting adventure to Tropical Spice Garden as the Entry Point for their ‘Vanishing Rainforests’ topic.
The day began with a challenge as students tackled a steep climb to the top of the garden, showing determination and enthusiasm right from the start. From there, they worked in groups to explore the rainforest surroundings and complete a range of engaging activities.
Using their navigational skills, the children made their way through different areas of the garden. They applied their understanding of rainforest layers by sketching and labelling what they observed, and also took part in activities such as identifying plants and animals, visiting the Poison Garden, and even enjoying a relaxing fish spa experience.
It was wonderful to see our Year 3 students showing such respect and curiosity for the natural environment. This memorable trip has certainly sparked excitement for the rest of their learning journey on this topic.
A big thank you to all of our parent helpers. Your support helped make the day even more special.

What a magical day it was at SCIPS as our school came alive for World Book Day! From page to parade, the excitement was everywhere. Our colourful costume parade showcased a wonderful cast of characters, while students enjoyed special reading moments with their buddy classes. It was a joyful celebration of imagination, creativity, and the power of reading.
A heartfelt thank you to our parents for your incredible effort in creating and providing such imaginative costumes. You truly helped bring the stories to life! We are already looking forward to doing it all again next year.

Year 5 Entry Point - Earth As An Island
To kickstart Term 3, Year 5 had their Entry Point for their new IPC unit, 'Earth as an Island.' They began by using their orienteering and teamwork skills to follow a map to uncover different island facts hidden around the school. Afterwards, they were lucky enough to hear about the personal experiences of different people who have lived on different islands around the world including the Marshall Islands and Zanzibar. To finish their Entry Point, they used a combination of newly-learned facts and research to work in groups to create their own quizzes.

Year 6 Term 2 Passion Projects
At the end of Term 2, the Year 6 students were delighted to share their passion projects with their fellow students and families at our end-of-term passion projects fair. The projects ranged from photography to space to giraffes! We were impressed by how inventive the children were in how they chose to present what they had learnt including games, quizzes, experiments, and demonstrations. It was wonderful to hear about what they are passionate about and what they have learned independently this term. Thank you to all those who attended.
