Dear fellow aspiring researchers or motivated students,
Multimedia University Engineering Society Overseas Research Program, or MESCORP for short is back in 2020!
The program first started in 2002 and has sent students overseas to countries like Japan, South Korea, China, Singapore and Australia to conduct engineering based research. It unfortunately stopped abruptly after 2015 and we are bringing it back!
MESCORP 2019 has sent student to South Korea last November with the title :
Motivations and concerns in Malaysia's race towards embracing 5G.
We will be holding a conference next Wednesday 12th February from 8.30AM - 3.00PM to share our findings. There will be a technical forum by speakers from MMU, TM R&D and MCMC which focuses on the difficulty and motivations for 5G implementation in Malaysia. The conference will be held at Multipurpose Hall.
For those who wish to participate in future MESCORP events, we highly encourage attendance! Not only is lunch provided, but there will be sharing of research and experience by the students who went abroad last year and could serve as good knowledge transfer to the next batch of students which will embark on their next research journey.

Upon arriving at the university, we were greeted by representative from the office of international affairs of Soongsil Univeristy. We were then taken to a lecture room where Prof. Jong-Ho Lee gave us a lecture on 5G communication which covered the 5G Concept and Technology.
After the lecture ended, we were introduced to Soongsil International Summer School (SISS). This program is a short term exchange program in Soongsil University preferably for the foreigners students.
The seminar ended with the start of the campus tour, guided by another representative who explained to us about the history of Soongsil University, about its relation to Christianity.

Our first activity in Seoul started with a campus visit to Yonsei University. YU is a private research university in Seoul, South Korea. It is one of Korea's three SKY universities, a group of universities widely regarded as the most prestigious in the country. Yonsei was established in 1885 and is one of the oldest universities in South Korea.
As we arrived there, we were welcome with good lunch with some of the engineering students apart from got to explore to local Korean food (bulgogi and octopus, saba fish). Next, there was a sharing insights from the students about the engineering course and campus life and also a campus tour which covered: Gwanghyewon, Jejungwon (heritage/historical building in University, rebuild/replica of original buildings), the statue of Underwood (Horace Grant underwood), the underwood Hall (administrative office), Samsung library (y-Valley (startup discussion), makerspace (realized idea through 3D printers or scanners) and many more!
