Teaching Then vs. Teaching Now
1980s Teacher Expectations:
📌Teach academics
📌Build relationships naturally
📌Maintain classroom discipline
📌Grade papers/tests
📌Take attendance
📌Call parents occasionally
📌Coach or sponsor a club if needed
📌Follow the curriculum
📌Attend staff meetings
📌Decorate your bulletin board:
Meanwhile:
📌Parents generally supported teachers
📌Discipline systems were stronger
📌Students understood consequences
📌Teachers were trusted more as professionals
Teaching Today:
📌Differentiate for every learner
📌Integrate technology daily
📌Raise test scores
📌Close achievement gaps
📌Be trauma-informed
📌Be culturally responsive
📌Build relationships with every student
📌Track endless data
📌Document every intervention
📌Handle behavior with fewer consequences
📌Manage student mental health concerns
📌Constantly communicate with parents
📌Answer WhatsApp messages at all hours
📌Post objectives and “I can” statements
📌Align everything to standards often not age appropriate.
📌Use approved strategies during walkthroughs
📌Keep students constantly engaged
📌Upload grades immediately
📌Be counselor, mediator, nurse, social worker, and tech support.
📌Prepare for and practice safety lock downs.
📌Oh yeah and teach academics. 😌
Meanwhile:
🫣Parents are quicker to challenge teachers
🫣Discipline systems are weaker
🫣Expectations are higher
🫣Respect is lower
🫣And teachers are blamed for problems far beyond the classroom
Teaching was never easy, but we still do it because we are passionate to shape the next generation for the better.

🌟 More Than Textbooks: Education with a Heart! 🌟
On November 24th and 25th, our students turned compassion into action! They didn't just study—they served.
We had the incredible opportunity to partner with Place in Kuching for meaningful volunteer work, distributing essential food supplies to the needy and lending a hand to clean a house.
This spirit of giving started even before the trip. Through their hard work selling delicious banana chips and jackfruit, our students successfully raised a fantastic RM 2,601.25 to support the cause!
Education goes beyond the classroom walls. We are immensely proud and grateful that our students embrace empathy and community service. They prove that the most valuable lesson is kindness.
We would also like to take the opportunity to thank those who have supported our fund raising project, directly or indirectly.

Hi everyone! We’re so excited to share a good news.
This year, through selling kerepek pisang, nangka, recyclable materials and collecting donations, we have managed to raise a total of RM 1001.95 from sales profits and another RM1,518.00 from donations for Hope Place so far.
None of this would have been possible without your generosity. Every purchase and every contribution has helped us take one step closer to making a real difference.
We’re truly grateful for your support, and we hope you’ll continue this journey with us — together, we can spread more kindness and bring hope to even more people.
We are still selling kerepek pisang at RM 12 per pack. If you wish to have a nice snack 😋 and be contributing to a good 👍cause at the same time, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you for walking alongside us!

In today’s PBL class, our students were actively involved in planning for the upcoming Sarawak trip. 🛫🌴 They discussed itineraries, shared creative ideas, and explored how to make the journey both educational and meaningful.
One exciting part of the trip will be our collaboration with Hope Place 🤝💙, an organisation dedicated to helping families in need. We are so proud to say that we have already fundraised more than RM1,000 for the organisation through our hard works and effort!
It’s wonderful to see them learning beyond textbooks and exams 📝➡🌍. Through this project, they are gaining teamwork, problem-solving, and planning skills — all while preparing to make a positive impact. 🌟
We are looking forward to seeing how their plans come together!
