While their juniors spent 5 days with each other, our 2024 Tunku Scholars had a much shorter leadership conference this time around! They attended Leadership Conference 4 (LC4) from 27 to 29 March 2026. Swipe through for a preview of what the 3-day event entailed for our 2024 Tunku Scholars! This conference is a part of the two year leadership development programme which is embedded in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Scholarship (BTAR).

For our 2024 Tunku Scholars, their two-year journey is almost at its end and most of them are in the midst of executing or are about to execute their community projects! Their workshops, panel sessions, and hands-on learning experiences in LC4 centered on exploring possible career paths, employability and supporting their community project journeys. On the second day, they also had the opportunity to venture into downtown Kuala Lumpur alongside their juniors.

We held Leadership Conference 1 (LC1) for our 2025 Tunku Scholars from 25 to 29 March 2026, which was nearly a month ago! Slide through for a preview of what the 5-day event entailed for our 2025 Tunku Scholars! This conference is a part of the two year leadership development programme which is embedded in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Scholarship (BTAR).

LC1 marks the first time our 2025 Scholars meet their entire cohort and their seniors in person! Our scholars attended workshops, panel sessions, and hands-on learning experiences on various topics such as leadership, ambassadorship, employability skills and mental health. They also had a chance to explore downtown Kuala Lumpur with their seniors on the fourth day!

We may have closed applications for the 2026 Tunku Abdul Rahman Scholarship on 20 April, but you more than welcome to find out more about our scholarship and the two-year leadership development programme at www.yayasantar.org.my.

Siapa sangka minat peribadi Nor Fasalia Ernie, Tunku Scholar 2022 dalam bidang keusahawanan turut menyumbang kepada komuniti yang lebih luas selain keluarganya? Fasalia memulakan perniagaan tudung atas talian secara kecil-kecilan bagi membantu kewangan keluarganya yang terjejas semasa pandemik Covid-19 ketika masih menuntut di Tingkatan 6. Hasil perniagaan ini membantu mendanai hari-hari awalnya di Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia ().

Fasalia kemudian memohon Biasiswa Tunku Abdul Rahman (BTAR) pada tahun 2022 bagi terus meringankan beban kewangan keluarganya, dan diterima sebagai Tunku Scholar pada tahun yang sama. Beliau memanfaatkan sepenuhnya peluang yang disalurkan melalui BTAR untuk membangunkan diri secara profesional, termasuk menyertai program pertukaran antarabangsa dan aktif dalam kepimpinan universiti. Bagi projek komunitinya, Fasalia melaksanakan projek penanaman tiram di SK Bukit Tampoi bersama pelajar Tahun 5 dan 6 dari komuniti Orang Asli Temuan, sekaligus membantu mereka menjana pendapatan kecil-kecilan. Fasalia juga berpeluang menyertai program kebolehpasaran pekerjaan pada tahun 2024, selaras dengan komitmennya terhadap pembangunan profesionalnya.

Fasalia baru sahaja menamatkan pengajian dalam bidang Perakaunan di UIAM dan kini memulakan kerjayanya dalam bidang audit di sebuah firma audit antarabangsa di Kuala Lumpur.

This year, we ran two Leadership Conferences (LC) concurrently for our 2024 and 2025 Tunku Scholars.

These conferences are a part of the two-year leadership development programme embedded in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Scholarship (BTAR). Leadership Conference 1 (LC1) for our 2025 Tunku Scholars ran from 25th to 29th March 2026, while Leadership Conference 4 (LC4) ran from 27th to 29th March 2026 for our 2024 Tunku Scholars.

LC1 marks the first time our 2025 Scholars met their entire cohort and their seniors in person, while LC4 marks the halfway point of our 2024 Scholars’ community project journey and the near-end of their two-year leadership development programme.

If you’re a prospective university student, or a university student with at least 2 years of study remaining, applications for the 2026 Tunku Abdul Rahman Scholarship are still open. The deadline for this year’s application has been extended to 20 April 2026, at 2 pm.

Sebagai satu-satunya anak lelaki dan anak sulung keluarganya, hasrat Pravhilan Gunasekaran, Tunku Scholar 2021 ke menara gading bukan sekadar impian peribadinya. Keinginannya ke universiti ini jugalah yang mendorong penyertaannya dalam program Closing the Gap () pada tahun 2019.

Setelah tamat pengajian di Kolej Matrikulasi Johor, Pravhilan mula terdetik untuk memohon Biasiswa Tunku Abdul Rahman (BTAR). Pada awalnya beliau meragui kebolehannya kerana kurang mahir dalam Bahasa Inggeris dan Bahasa Melayu. Namun, Pravhilan tetap mencuba dan dianugerahkan sebagai Tunku Scholar 2021.

Perjalanan Pravhilan sepanjang biasiswa, khususnya dalam program pembangunan kepimpinan selama 2 tahun, membaja semangatnya untuk terus berbakti kepada komuniti. Keinginannya untuk sentiasa menambah baik diri sendiri juga mendorong penyertaannya dalam program kebolehpasaran pekerjaan FutureReady ()

Pravhilan bergraduasi dengan Ijazah Sarjana Muda Pengajian Hubungan Antarabangsa dengan Kepujian dari UniSZA pada tahun 2024. Beliau kini bekerja sebagai Pegawai Pelesenan dan Pematuhan di Astro, dan masih lagi bergiat aktif sebagai guru sukarelawan di Sri Murugan Centre (SMC).
