1. Ionic Bonds
- Definition : Formed when electrons are transferred from one atom to another.
- Occurs Between: Metals and non-metals.
- How It Works:
- The metal loses electrons and becomes a positively charged ion (cation).
- The non-metal gains electrons and becomes a negatively charged ion (anion).
- Opposite charges attract, forming a strong bond.
Example: Sodium chloride (NaCl)
- Na → Na⁺ + e⁻
- Cl + e⁻ → Cl⁻
- Na⁺ + Cl⁻ → NaCl

Acids vs. Bases: Quick pH Hack

Remember:
Acids have a pH less than 7 and taste sour (like lemons 🍋).
Bases have a pH greater than 7 and feel slippery (like soap 🧼).
Neutral? That’s water with a pH of 7!

The Secret Behind Salt Dissolving in Water

Ever wondered why salt dissolves so easily in water? It's because water molecules are polar—they have a slight charge that pulls apart the sodium (Na⁺) and chloride (Cl⁻) ions in salt. This is called dissociation!
