Celebrating a Remarkable Academic Milestone

Postgrad Zauraq heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Dr. Nor Afifah Khalil FifaMusz Khalil for the completion of her second PhD under the Cotutelle program between Universiti Kuala Lumpur and Prince of Songkla University (PSU) on 23rd May 2025—a truly exceptional achievement, as fewer than 2% of the world population holds even a single PhD.

We also commend the dedicated supervisory team—Prof. Ir. Naim Yahaya, Associate Professor Dr. Wirah Taweepreda, and Ts. Dr. Md Sohrab Hossein—for their outstanding collaborative guidance throughout this academic journey.

During the course of her doctoral studies, Dr. Nor Afifah Khalil published 12 academic papers with Postgrad Zauraq, including 5 journal articles related directly to her studies, of which 2 were published in Q1-ranked journals—a testament to the quality and impact of her research.

This remarkable milestone is made even more special as it coincides with her upcoming birthday.

Once again, congratulations on this exemplary achievement, Dr. Dr. Nor Afifah Khalil. Your dedication and excellence continue to inspire us all.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our very own prodigal son, Mr Muneer Ayash for successfully defending his viva voce with minor modification for the conferment of MET(Chemical Engineering) on Weds, 19th Feb 2025.

A cute note though; most examiners agreed that Muneer should have converted his studies to Ph.D. after completing his first year of studies due to extensive and brilliant progress.

On to the next chapter, he is looking forward to register for his Ph.D. soonest possible.

Congratulations again, Muneer.

The prodigal daughter of Postgrad Zauraq went on for her convocation at Prince of Songkla University on the 20th September 2024. Congratulations are also in order for AP Dr Wirach Taweepreda, Prof Naim Yahaya, Dr Imam Musz and Prof Dr Erna Yuliwati for the success of the Cotuttle program between UniKL-PSU.

Dr Ririn (as she is fondly known among her peers) performed exceptionally well in her studies. Here are some of her accolades:-

1) No correction during Ph.D. her viva voce for presentation and thesis.
2) 4 Q1 articles and 3 conference proceedings published
3) More to come during Convocation UniKL in Nov 2024 later….

Dr Ririn now works as a lecturer back in her hometown in University Srivijaya.

We at Postgrad@Zauraq are very2 proud and again would like to congratulate Dr Ririn for the outstanding achievement in her studies.

THE HIGHBROWS

Our team has broken yet another record with 2 Q1 papers accepted in the space of a week. The teams’ tally now stands at 19Q1s for the last 5 years.

The team now consist of 2 cotuttle Drs., 5 GOTs, 1 best PhD student, 1 best Msc student under mix nationalities and background.

This mile high club pride themselves in working very hard, dedicated, discipline and always aim for GOT in the completion of their studies. So far so good for most of them.One distinct habit observed when these guys got together is the topic of their conversation….very technical/ mostly studies related. Very seldom to hear them gossiping about other people (trait of high achievers).

All supervisors involved are very2 proud of this group.
