The Research Program of Functional Genomics of Eukaryotes at the Center for Genomic Sciences (CCG) (http://www.ccg.unam.mx) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), located at Cuernavaca, Morelos) is seeking an outstanding young candidate for one tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant / Associate Professor.
Applicants must be younger than 39 years-old for women and younger than 37 years-old for men, at the time of hiring. In addition, applicants must have a PhD and postdoctoral experience (at least two years); rank will be commensurate with experience and productivity.
The successful applicants must have a track record of quality scientific accomplishments in the area of Plant Functional Genomics for the study of the plant interactions with microorganisms.
Responsibilities will include the proposal and development of an original, collaborative, project, with external funding, that may be obtained after hiring; as well as teaching and research training of undergraduate and graduate students. These activities will be carried out at the Program of Functional Genomics of Eukaryotes at the CCG; thus it is highly desirable that the applicants consider alternatives for collaboration, mainly, with groups from this Program.

Applications will be received until August 31, 2021. By September 13, 2021 candidates pre-selected for these positions will be invited to visit the CCG to give a seminar and to have interviews with the academic staff and authorities of the Center, by in-person modality. Both, seminars and interviews will, probably, occur between September 1º and 30th, 2021. The candidate selected for hiring will be notified by November 10th, 2021.
This position may initiate during the January – March, 2022 but not later than March 31st, 2022.
