Ya know, just a quick impromptu selfie session as I record a “intro to hypnosis” series for a teenage client of mine.

Heheheh I’m at my folks house and hiding on the floor in the guest room to try to get the best acoustics 🤪.

Hypnosis is simpler than most people think. It’s really just a heightened sense of relaxation combined with some mental “focus”, I say it in air quotes because focus makes it seem challenging, but it’s just really about tuning the outside world out and allowing yourself to relax into a connection with your unconscious mind.

This particular client is living in kind of a fight or flight nervous system response and is perhaps a little afraid to let that guard down and relax. They are also very attached to her own self-identity of being an anxious/depressed person.

Soooooo we’re easing them into it ever so easily with simple guided relaxation audios to help them become comfortable in their own mind/body.

12 years ago… on a deserted beach in a still undiscovered town 😝

My how times have changed! 🤣

To say that trip changed my life would be an understatement.

In that moment I said yes and changed the entire trajectory of my life. I didn’t totally realize it at the time, but holy s**t… in saying yes to on that beach in Tulum… I was really saying yes to a lifetime of adventure and wild crazy experiences, I would have never had with anyone else.

It’s been a wild ride ever since but one thing I can say with so much pride is that together, we’re out here doin the damn thing. ❤️

Moving to new places, building businesses, taking care of loved ones, building homes, renovating homes, constantly on the go… there’s been a lot happening in that 11 years.

This happened a while ago but since I live this wild, semi-nomadic life, I’m just now finally seeing the actual certificate! 🙃

Feeling particularly proud and excited about the work I’m doing today so I thought I’d share.

Earlier in the year I went through a series of profound trainings (thank you .grace.seol & ) and became certified in Integrative Change Work, Life Coaching & even Hypnosis.

The process itself was life changing for me personally, allowing me to let go of some really deep rooted childhood s**t that was really holding me down, quit a 40 year addiction to Diet Coke and ride the waves of grief as I lost someone very special to me during my time in these programs.

And in the short time that I have been practicing, I have helped people overcome countless addictions, anxieties that had become part of their identity and bad habits that had made them feel hopeless. It has been an honor to be a small part of my clients’ journeys. ❤️

Today, seeing this silly piece of paper, I feel so very grateful for this work.

I’m so lucky to be able to support people in these tender moments.

If you have chronic pain, can you imagine what it would be like to feel even just a little relief??

This wasn’t even our focus of our session together but at the last minute, after having an already really profound time together, she casually mentioned having chronic pain so I asked her if she could stay on the line for just a few more minutes.

And within those few minutes, she was already feeling relief.

Can you imagine what that’s like?

Well, in her words, it’s “life-changing”. ❤️

5 years ago… my head is literally spinning from the idea that this was 5 years ago.

I miss our friends in Tulum so so very much and consider myself so fortunate to have all of these incredible memories with such wonderful people.

We did so much traveling around Mexico and experienced so much as a group, it was incredible.

We had a bit of a reunion trip planned this coming spring for a race in Veracruz but some unforeseen situations are going to delay that trip… ☹️ but hopefully we will all be able to get together soon.

Just feeling a little sad and sentimental today and felt like sharing.
