Downwinder lessons are one of our favorite ways to teach here in La Ventana. 🌊💨 More time on the water, less time walking gear back up the beach, and plenty of space to work on your riding.

Without the BbTALKIN we simply couldn’t teach the way we do.

Being able to communicate in real time completely changes the learning experience. We can give clear instructions exactly when they’re needed, students can ask questions instantly, and get immediate feedback on what they’re feeling and experiencing on the water.

You’ll usually find us arriving before everyone else… and sometimes leaving after everyone else.

Why?

Because the best learning happens when the water is flatter, there’s less chop, and the beach is less crowded. Early, just as the wind fills in, or later when things calm down again, we choose the moments that make learning easier and more enjoyable.

Every lesson is about giving you the best possible conditions to progress with confidence.

Bigger is better when you’re learning. 🤙

One of the biggest myths in wing foiling is that you should start on a small board because it’ll get you foiling faster 🙄.

We don’t agree.

A bigger board gives you stability, which means you spend less energy trying to stay balanced and more energy learning what really matters: how to control the wing. 🌬️

This is especially true in choppy conditions, where extra volume makes a huge difference in your confidence and progression.

The same goes for your wing. When you’re learning, it’s better to use a slightly bigger wing and have a bit more power than to struggle with an underpowered setup. A little extra power makes it easier to handle the wing, get moving, and build confidence.

Once you’re comfortable flying the wing and everything starts to click, that’s the right time to size down.

That’s why at our school we always start beginners on a 170L board for the first lessons. As soon as you’re ready, we move you to a smaller board step by step.

Learn the right skills first. The smaller board can wait. 💪🏼🤙🏻

Do you love wingfoiling and enjoy helping others progress on the water? We're looking for a passionate and motivated female wingfoil instructor to join our team in La Ventana, Baja California Sur, Mexico this upcoming windy season.

At Baja Wing & Watersports, we're dedicated to creating a welcoming, supportive, and professional learning environment for everyone, from complete beginners taking their first flight to experienced riders looking to level up.
If you'd love to spend your season riding, coaching, and sharing your passion in one of the world's best wingfoil destinations, we'd love to hear from you!

📅 Season: November–March
We're primarily looking for someone available from late November through February.

Requirements:
✅ Advanced wingfoil riding skills
✅ Comfortable teaching beginner through advanced riders
✅ Previous teaching experience preferred
✅ Legally able to work in Mexico (Mexican citizen, residency, or work visa). We're happy to assist with the work visa process.
✅ Available for at least part of the peak season (December–February)
✅ Longer commitments are preferred, but we're open to shorter stays for the right person.

Looking back on our 2025/26 season, one thing stands out more than anything else, the incredible people we had the privilege of meeting.

Every lesson, every camp, and every session on the water was made special by the people who chose to spend their time with us. We watched confidence grow, celebrated first flights, shared plenty of laughs, and built friendships that we hope will last well beyond the season.

These photos capture just a small part of the season. There are so many more of you who aren’t pictured here, but each person who joined us left a positive mark on our season, and we’re grateful for every connection we made along the way.
