Adelante - Youth Empowerment Program

We are currently working to provide impoverished Mexican communities with ¡Adelante!, a program that will serve to address the problem of lack of resources and opportunities available to at-risk youth in Mexico in the form of free-of-cost youth empowerment programs. Our Summer 2014 pilot program will be in Aguascalientes, Mexico in the community of Las Cumbres 3; we hope to later expand to other areas in the state and later, nationally. The center will aim to provide at-risk low-income youth (ages 13-15) with an environment focused on education and positive values that will motivate them to pursue higher education. The center’s curriculum will revolve around three branches of personal empowerment: community development, academic development, and professional development. We are currently in the development and funding stages.
