Happy International Women's Day to all female students of the University of Malawi

As the Female Gender Attaché in the office of the SRC President, I would like to celebrate all the female students we have here at the university. Your presence here is an honour and valuable. Many girls and women face numerous biological and social challenges on their journey, yet you have continued to endure and pursue your dreams. Today, we celebrate your resilience and courage.I would like to encourage all girls on campus to continue working hard and striving for excellence in your studies and leadership.

At the same time, I urge every female student to speak up and report any form of abuse or sexual harassment. No one deserves to feel unsafe or disrespected in our learning environment. Our university is a place where every student should feel protected, valued, and empowered.

To all the girls and women at the University of Malawi, we celebrate you today.

Happy International Women's Day! 🥳

Best Regards,
Regina Mdyetseni and Faith Donalisa Jumbe
Vice President and Female Gender Attaché

Rest well Brother Patrick Kazembe.🕊️

Our fellow student, passed on yesterday and laid to rest today in Nkhata Bay.

The SRC Vice General Secretary, Melody Smart Dabwi, alongside Abel, a friend of the late Patrick Kazembe, attended the burial to stand in solidarity with the bereaved family and to represent the entire University of Malawi student community.

As students, we mourn together and draw strength from one another during these difficult times. May we continue to support each other with unity and compassion always.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
