โจ On 30th July 2025, a team from the University of Malawi, under the mentorship of Earnest Thom Pondani (Lecturer in Politics and Government, School of Law, Economics & Governance), partnered with Hope Spark and the Refugee Outreach Collective to bring hope to Dzaleka Refugee Camp.
๐ค Together, we reached 100 householdsโdistributing 5KG bags of maize flour, soya pieces, and soap to vulnerable children and families.
This initiative specifically supported:
โ
Child-headed households
โ
Families who recently fled war and conflict
โ
Single-mother-led households
โ
The poorest parents within the camp
๐ Behind the numbers are real stories of resilience, courage, and survival. For many, this was more than foodโit was a reminder that they are not forgotten.
๐ Special appreciation to our amazing student volunteers: Precious Mtchona , Triza Ngwira , Tatenda Chiuye and Josephy Kafuziraโyour compassion and commitment made this possible.
This is only the beginning. Together, we can continue to stand with displaced children and families, reminding them of their dignity and worth.
