Our club had an awesome day at Matiya Primary school. We had a chance to teach learners on the importance of taking care for school environment and property after some got vandalized. Grateful for the session and many thanks to our executive directors and resources team for making it happen .

On December 18, 2025, a focus group at Likangala evacuation center, involving UNIMA FEMICONOMIS HUB, Councillor Monile Bakali, community leaders, and women, discussed Gender-Based Violence (GBV). We defined GBV as harmful acts based on gender including physical, sexual, and digital abuse and noted its contextual nature. While GBV disproportionately affects women and girls, the discussion highlighted how socialization silences men, making them reluctant to report due to stigma. To combat GBV, the group emphasized reporting to authorities, community leaders, and police, alongside advocating for stricter government policies, targeted awareness for men, and challenging harmful social norms to address all forms of GBV, regardless of the genders involved.

UNIMA FEMICONOMIS HUB was also privileged to have talks about GBV against Women with other clubs in Zomba city which took place at Matiya primary school on 7 December 2025

On 28th November 2025, the UNIMA FEMICONOMIS HUB was thrilled to be part and parcel of the seminar hosted by the UNIMA GENDER SOCIETY that took place at the university of Malawi. The aim of this seminar was raising awareness inline with the theme "Unite To End Digital Violence against Women and Girls".

The unima Femiconomis hub was privileged to participate in the empowering of young people to become good citizens and work hard in school at Chambo evacuation center in Zomba district. This meeting involved the community leaders, some people from the council and members of the community. Despite motivating these primary and secondary school students were also prevailed to receive some school materials like exercise books, pens and pencils.
