Technology Should Build, Not Distract Our Children's Future.

Watch as members of the Chilunga CDSS Girls' Empowerment Club share their experiences of how unrestricted access to mobile phones at home is affecting their education. Many girls said that using phones at home is one of the biggest distractions to their studies.

At Unlock Potential Malawi, we believe that every girl has a voice, and her voice must be heard.

This is an important message to all parents and guardians. We must take action to safeguard the future of our children. Technology is a powerful tool, but without proper guidance and control, it can become a barrier to educational success.

Failure Challenge: A Lesson Beyond the Game #

Before showcasing their talents, the girls played a game challenge called Failure Challenge #

The girls were divided into two groups; Team A and Team B. Each team was given several pieces of chalk and challenged to arrange them so that they could hold together. The teams had only 30 seconds to complete the task. For every successful attempt within the time given, the team earned two points.

The interesting part of the game was that failure did not end the challenge. No matter how many times a team failed, they were encouraged to keep trying keep learning and keep pushing forward to earn more points.

The girls enjoyed the game, but beyond the fun, it carried a powerful lesson;

is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts #

Many young people we work with have been made to feel like failures because of poor grades, difficult circumstances, or the opinions of others. Through this simple activity, we reminded them that failure is not an identity - it is an experience. It is part of learning and eventually succeeding.

A student may fail a test, but that does not mean they are a failure.

At Unlock Potential Malawi, we continue to encourage young people to believe themselves, embrace challenges and keep moving forward despite setbacks.

Your current situation is not your final destination.... The opinions of others do not determine your worth...... Every great achievement begins with someone who refused to give up.

Potential # one Voice at a Time.

For far too long, girls in many Community Day Secondary Schools have been unfairly labelled as 'failures' or made to believe that their dreams are limited. However, we choose to challenge this narrative.

We believe that every girl has a voice, unique talents, and valuable skills. With good mentorship, guidance and opportunities, she can discover her strength and unlock her full potential.

These are girls from Chilunga CDSS showcasing their talents, confidence and leadership through their powerful poetry performance.

Their creativity, courage and passion reminded us that talent exists everywhere. It only needs a platform to shine.
