Big shoutout to Joanah Damba! 👏

This second-year Nursing and Midwifery student is out here putting in the work and we see it. Nursing isn’t just about textbooks and injections; it’s about showing up with heart, holding space for people on their worst days, and celebrating new life with mamas in the delivery room. That takes serious strength.

And Joanah? She’s grinding. Between endless lectures, clinical shifts, and sleepless nights, she’s still pushing through with a smile. It’s not an easy road, but she’s proof that hard work and compassion go hand in hand.

The Principal Mrs Nancy Kamwendo Strikes a Firm Tone at Holy Family Welcome Assembly

The atmosphere was electric this morning as students filed at the College square for the official welcome of the new cohorts. But what started as a warm reception quickly turned into a no-nonsense address from the Principal, who pulled no punches in laying down the law for the incoming cohorts.

In an impassioned 15-minute speech, the Principal extended a heartfelt welcome to the new students but immediately pivoted to the non-negotiables of the term.

"Hard work is the only currency that pays here," she declared. "There are no shortcuts. If you want to succeed, you must put in the hours. Talent without effort is a wasted gift."

She then delivered a stark warning on academic dishonesty that sent a ripple of silence through the crowd. "Let me make this crystal clear cheating in any examination will attract severe consequences. I would rather you fail honestly than pass through deception. Your integrity is your identity."

But perhaps the most striking moment came when the Principal addressed the students' conduct beyond the school gates. In a stern advisory, she took aim at the rising use of foul language, particularly during off-campus activities.

"I have received reports of obscene language being thrown around on sports trips and excursions. This is completely unacceptable," she said, her voice rising. "Remember who you are and where you come from. You are not just any students, you come from a Holy Family. Let your words, your actions, and your attitude reflect that dignity wherever you go."

The message was clear: academic excellence and moral decency must walk hand in hand.

With that final charge, the Principal wished them a stay.

A Day of Thrills, Spills, and Great Sportsmanship!

We had an incredible day out at Mulanje Mission College of Nursing and Midwifery
Our teams travelled with high spirits and brought home some fantastic results after a series of intense friendly matches.

Here’s how the scores stacked up:
🏐 Netball: It was a nail-biter until the very end! Holy Family College edged out the win with a final score of 24-23. What a game!

🏐 Volleyball: The court was on fire! Our volleyball team showed great synergy to secure a 2-1 victory.

⚽ Football: Both sides put on a great display of talent, resulting in a well-fought 1-1 draw.

A massive thank you to Mulanje Mission College of Nursing and Midwifery for the warm welcome, the amazing hospitality, and for hosting us so graciously. We truly appreciate the spirit of friendly competition and the beautiful connections made today.
