Matron for Mzimba District Hospital, Etta Kadzakumanja, has called upon the country's Early Childhood Development Centres (ECDCs) to ensure they organise learning visits for their learners, stressing they help pupils make informed career choices.

Children from St. Charles and Clare Private Schools in Mzimba today had an educational visit to Mzimba Hospital to appreciate the work of health professionals and their role in ensuring the well-being of the communities.

Director for the schools, Yacinta Phiri, said as an institution they believe in preparing future leaders who will contribute positively to their families, communities, the nation, and on the global stage.

Phiri added that the visit has given learners a chance to observe and learn work of health workers.

In her remarks, hospital Matron Eta Kadzakumanja commended the school management for visiting them.

She encouraged other learning instructions to emulate what St. Charles and Clare private schools have done to enhance learners understand of various professions or careers.

Look how engaged our little learners are at St. Charles and Clare! Yesterday in our middle class, we made learning shapes fun and interactive! 🎨 Our budding mathematicians explored circles through creative play, using paint and different circular objects to make colorful prints.

Teacher Ellen and Teacher Pauline guided our children in discovering circles all around us - from Blocks to clocks to plates to coins! It's amazing to see their eyes light up as they connect classroom learning to their everyday world. 🔴🟡🟠🟢

Have you ever thought to yourself how you are able to tell if someone has mismatched the colours at a wedding or an event you attended? Well if you are able to do that even without attending early childhood development education you might have acquired those skills unknowingly but some do not completely gain those skills. That's why our classes are filled with activities which can help a child develop certain skills like memory and problem solving while having fun at it. In this activity we have put 2 colour blocks in their hands and they should only drop the same colour matching in their hands. You can see how she is able to calculate her moves. Fun Fridays!!!
