The Malawi School of Government (MSG) is currently conducting a Corporate Cybersecurity Training, an applied, hands-on programme aimed at strengthening in-house cybersecurity capabilities.

The training is equipping participants with practical skills to prevent, detect, respond to and investigate cyber incidents, while enhancing their understanding of emerging technology risks, data privacy and cybersecurity governance.

The programme is being facilitated by Dr. Michael Zimba, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science Expert, and Wezzie Lukhere, Managing Director at CyberSOFNET.

The Malawi School of Government (MSG) has today commenced a two-day Orientation Training for 12 newly appointed Commissioners of the Civil Service Commission, running from 17th to 18th September 2026.

The programme is designed to equip the Commissioners with the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to effectively discharge their constitutional responsibilities.

Speaking during the opening, Principal Secretary for Human Resource Management and Development, Mr Hilary Chimota, urged the Commissioners to uphold integrity, professionalism, independence, transparency and accountability in their work

MSG Director General Prof. Lewis Dzimbiri welcomed the Commissioners and highlighted key areas covered by the orientation, including the mandate and functions of the Civil Service Commission, conditions of service, professional conduct and effective interviewing.

The training continues tomorrow as MSG remains committed to strengthening capacity and promoting a professional, accountable and effective public service.

Emerging Public Leaders Programme Begins Orientation for Cohort 3 at Malawi School of Government

The Emerging Public Leaders (EPL) Malawi programme has officially commenced orientation for Cohort 3 Fellows at the Malawi School of Government (MSG). Upon completion, the fellows will be deployed to various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) across the public sector.

The Chairperson of the Civil Service Commission who is also the EPL Malawi Board Chairperson, Commissioner A. Chibwana, urged Cohort-3 fellows to take full advantage of this opportunity to build professional networks and contribute meaningfully to Malawi’s national development agenda.

Echoing his remarks, the Director General of the Malawi School of Government encouraged the candidates to be proactive, work diligently, and acquire the necessary skills to deliver impactful results in their respective placements.

The EPL Fellowship Programme is designed to equip young professionals with knowledge, practical experience, and leadership skills to drive positive impact and strengthen public service delivery in Malawi.

Newly appointed officers in the Department of Economic Planning under the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Decentralization are undergoing an intensive one week induction training at the Malawi School of Government (MSG) Kanengo Campus.

The training is designed to equip the new officers with essential knowledge, skills and professional values required to effectively serve in the public sector, including ethics and integrity, the Civil Service, relevant laws and regulations, office conduct, professionalism, and refraining from corruption in public service.

Through the induction, the officers are being oriented on their roles and responsibilities while reinforcing the values and standards expected of public servants in delivering quality services to citizens.
