MIPS Holds Career Talk Program at Atsikana Pa Ulendo
The Malawi Institute of Procurement and Supply (MIPS) today 16th May 2026 conducted a Career Talk Program at Atsikana Pa Ulendo aimed at inspiring students to explore opportunities in procurement and supply management.
Held under the theme of building future careers, the program gave learners an opportunity to interact with industry professionals and gain knowledge about procurement as a rewarding and progressive career path.
Speaking during the event, MIPS Chief Executive Officer Amos Nyambo explained that supply chain management ensures goods and services are delivered at the right time, in the right quantity, and at the right price.
Nyambo further encouraged students to consider procurement and supply chain management as a career choice, saying the profession has evolved with modern technology and digital transformation.
โProcurement is no longer as manual as it used to be. Today, many processes are automated, making the profession more efficient and transparent,โ said Nyambo.
He also highlighted that institutions such as Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS), Lilongwe University and UNICAF University are among universities offering procurement and supply chain programs in Malawi.
The event also featured interactive plenary sessions where students asked questions and discussed various career opportunities available in the procurement sector.
Organizers emphasized the importance of professionalism, hard work, and making informed career choices at an early stage.
The program concluded with closing remarks from both the Atsikana Pa Ulendo Headmaster and the MIPS CEO, who encouraged students to remain focused on their education and future ambitions.
MIPS says the initiative forms part of its ongoing efforts to promote professionalism in procurement and supply in Malawi while inspiring the next generation of professionals.
