A landmark day for corporate chess in Malawi. ♟️
The Corporate Chess Corner has officially been launched!
Dadaz Chess Academy extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us at Crossroads Hotel, Lilongwe, for this historic occasion.
We were privileged to hear from our Guest Speaker, Onjezani Kenani , who delivered a thought-provoking message on how chess can be a powerful tool for mindset transformation. He emphasized that the game goes far beyond the chessboard—it develops critical thinking, discipline, patience, decision-making, and problem-solving skills that are essential for success in business and everyday life.
Mr. Kenani also challenged us to think beyond playing the game, highlighting the potential for Malawi to create economic opportunities through chess. He spoke about the possibility of establishing local chess set manufacturing and the production of other sporting equipment, creating jobs, reducing imports, and generating foreign exchange through exports.
A major highlight of the evening was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dadaz Chess Academy and Crossroads Hotels Lilongwe, officially making Crossroads Hotel the home and official venue of the Corporate Chess Corner. This partnership marks an exciting step towards creating a permanent space where professionals can meet, network, compete, and grow through chess.
