On this Labour Day, The Samaritan Trust joins the nation and the global community in celebrating the dignity of work and the resilience of workers everywhere.

We reaffirm our commitment to achieving decent work by:

Promoting workersโ€™ rights as the foundation of fair, safe, and inclusive workplaces.

Investing in skills development that empowers youth and communities to thrive in todayโ€™s evolving labour market.

Championing equity and opportunity, ensuring that every worker has the chance to contribute meaningfully and live with dignity.

As we reflect on the sacrifices and achievements of workers past and present, we recognize that decent work is not just a goalโ€”it is a right. Together, through solidarity, innovation, and empowerment, we can build a future where every worker is valued, protected, and equipped to succeed.

โ€œRESTORING HOPE"

Meet Noel James โ€” a determined young man whose dreams were at risk when his sister could no longer afford his school fees. The Samaritan Trust brought him back on track: enrolled him in secondary school and learning bricklaying through our vocational training program.

With practical skills and steady support, heโ€™s building not just walls, but a future full of possibility.

Join us in celebrating Noelโ€™s progress and the power of community support. Your encouragement helps more young people move from vulnerability to independence.

THANK YOU Malawi Provisional Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church

We are deeply grateful for our partnership with Malawi Provisional Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, whose generosity strengthens our mission of empowering youth through vocational education.

By paying tuition and boarding fees for their beneficiaries at the Samaritan Trust Vocational Skills Training Centre, Malawi Provisional Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church not only invests in their own students but also enables us to enroll street-connected youth for free. This means more vulnerable young people gain access to life-changing skills in Plumbing, Tailoring, and Bricklayingโ€”skills that open doors to dignity, independence, and brighter futures.

Together, we are building safer communities, nurturing self-reliance, and proving that partnerships can multiply impact.

From vulnerability to self-reliance: Gracian Lomesiโ€™s Journey of Hope

Meet Mr. Lomesi Gracian, a shining example of what happens when vulnerable youth are given opportunity and support.

In 2013, Lomesi joined The Samaritan Trust after struggling to access education and pursue his dreams. Through our Youth Empowerment for Prosperity Program, he received basic education and vocational training in Bricklayingโ€”a skill that became his pathway to independence.

By 2019, Lomesiโ€™s determination and hard work earned him a role as an Assistant Bricklaying Instructor at the Samaritan Trust Vocational Skills Training Centre. His passion for teaching and mentoring young people continued to grow, and in 2024, he was promoted to Bricklaying Instructor, taking full responsibility for training the next generation of builders.

Today, Lomesi not only supports himself but also empowers other vulnerable youth to gain practical skills, dignity, and hope. His journey shows that with opportunity and support, young people can rise above hardship and become role models for their peers.

At The Samaritan Trust, we believe every child deserves dignity, opportunity, and hope. Stories like Lomesiโ€™s fuel our mission and prove that transformation is possible.

Support more transformations like this. Partner with us today.
