The Daughters of Mary Immaculate (DMI) was founded by Very Rev.Fr.Dr.J.E.Arul Raj on the Biblical ground that โ€œService to the most downtrodden among His creation is service to God Himselfโ€. Vision: To Spearhead Employable Education in Africa and
Become part of its History. Mission: Capacity Building of Children of Africa to meet the Emerging Challenges happening in the World, by imparting Quality Employable Education with Discipline which leads to Self Enlightenment and Development of the Nation. DMI is an internationally focused teaching university based in Central Africa. We also have campuses in Mangochi, Lilongwe, Blantyre with strong connections to businesses, industries, and over 40 universities worldwide. With an emphasis on real-world issues, our students are also trained in several skills such as entrepreneurship, career development, and several other domains.

DMI University has signed a five-year memorandum of understanding (MOU) with CIC Insurance aimed at strengthening practical training and career readiness for students.

Speaking after signing the MOU today, the university principal, Dafter Khembo, said the agreement will enable students to complement classroom learning with hands-on industry experience through structured internships.

He said: โ€œWhen they combine the theoretical aspect obtained in the classroom and the practical experience they will get at the industry, we are going to build a strong person who will contribute to the development of our country.โ€

CIC Insurance managing director Zachary Wambugu said the partnership is also designed to benefit students engaged in research, with the company expected to support their work.

โ€œThe research component is going to be flexible and will be need-based. We can work with students on research for products or market needs as they arise,โ€said Wambugu.

Today, DMI St. John the Baptist University, Lilongwe Campus proudly participated in the Malawi Future Leadersโ€™ Summit held at Golden Peacock Hotel under the inspiring theme:
โ€œAcademic Excellence, Entrepreneurship and Leadership for Malawiโ€™s Future.โ€
๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ‘จ๐ŸŽ“ Our students had the opportunity to interact, learn, and network with peers from other universities, gaining fresh perspectives and building meaningful connections.
๐ŸŽ™๏ธ The summit featured distinguished speakers including:

Both leaders encouraged students to embrace excellence, innovation, and strong leadership as pillars for shaping Malawiโ€™s future.
