The Qasim Ibrahim School of Business (QISB), Villa College, in collaboration with the Villa College Business Society (VCBS), successfully hosted Business Festival 2026 on 12 August 2026, bringing together distinguished guests, faculty members, students, entrepreneurs and the wider community to celebrate innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial thinking.
Featuring 60+ student poster presentations and engaging stalls by external vendors, the festival provided students with a platform to showcase their ideas, explore business opportunities and connect classroom learning with real world entrepreneurship. The celebration culminated in recognising the exceptional talent and creativity of our students, with the prestigious awards for Best Presenter, Best Business Idea and Best Innovation celebrating excellence in presentation, entrepreneurial thinking and innovation.
The event was graced by Dr. Ahmed Anwar, Rector, Villa College, and Mr. Mohamed Haleem, President, Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives, alongside distinguished guests, faculty members and students.
A key highlight was the official launch of Cohort 2 of the Venture Creation Program, led by Mr. Syed Ahmad Rafey, Incubation Manager, VIgnite - QISB Incubator, reinforcing Villa College’s commitment to transforming ideas into innovative ventures and meaningful impact.

✨ Industry Insights in Action at QISB! ✨

The Qasim Ibrahim School of Business (QISB) successfully hosted another inspiring session under its Industry Engagement Speaker Series, featuring the timely and thought-provoking topic: “The Future of Entrepreneurship and Investment.”

The session was delivered by Ms. Mariyam Visam, Chief Commercial Officer of First National Finance Corporation, and welcomed an enthusiastic audience of over 100 students from both QISB and VIHS.

Through this engaging guest lecture, students gained valuable industry perspectives on the evolving world of entrepreneurship, investment, and business financing. Ms. Visam shared practical insights on identifying business opportunities, building an entrepreneurial mindset, and understanding the importance of investment readiness in today’s competitive environment.

Her session encouraged students to think beyond traditional career paths and explore innovation, enterprise creation, and informed financial decision-making as key elements of their future professional growth.

At QISB, we remain committed to connecting academic learning with industry practice, strengthening student exposure to professional expertise, and nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit of future graduates.
