Grade 12 Chemistry students recently visited the Maldives Police Service, where they had the opportunity to observe High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC) instruments and learn about their key components and functions.
During the session, students gained valuable information into how these analytical techniques are used in forensic investigations, particularly in the identification and analysis of drugs. With the guidance of police chemical analysts, students also participated in hands-on drug testing activities using different chemical reagents, making the experience both engaging and educational.
Field experiences such as these help students connect classroom learning to real-world applications, explore potential career pathways, and make informed decisions about their future interests and aspirations.
We sincerely thank the Maldives Police Service for organizing this informative visit and providing our students with this unique learning opportunity.
