For this lesson the boys Claude Monet and The girls became Frida’s. We talked about what each of these artists like to paint the most, where they spent their time the most, how they looked like and what they did. The students were then tasked to create their own portraits as Frida’s or Monets

Today is coincidentally our Adaptive Arts class day as well — and these are the brightest stars of Creative Jous. 💙

On the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day, our SEN students came together to create this beautiful collaborative collage — each piece unique, each voice important, and together, something truly powerful. Moments like this remind us that when we create inclusive spaces, every individual gets the chance to shine in their own way.

Did you know?
1. Autism is a spectrum — every individual experiences it differently, with unique strengths and challenges.
2. Early support and inclusive education can significantly improve communication, confidence, and independence.
3. In the Maldives, access to specialized educational support and trained SEN professionals is still limited.
4. Many neurodivergent children face barriers in mainstream classrooms due to a lack of resources, awareness, and adaptive teaching methods.
5. Art-based learning can play a powerful role in supporting emotional expression, sensory regulation, and social connection for autistic individuals.

Here’s to celebrating neurodiversity, advocating for inclusion, and continuing to build spaces where every child belongs. 💙

Today, on World Autism Awareness Day, we celebrate neurodiversity — not just with words, but through the power of art and education here in the Maldives.

At Creative Jous, we believe art creates a space where every individual can express, connect, and be understood in ways that go beyond words. For neurodivergent individuals, this space is not just meaningful — it’s essential.

This journey has not been easy. Working within an already vulnerable and under-supported area, building the kind of inclusive, adaptive environment we truly envision has been testing. But we continue to do the best we can with what we have, holding onto the belief that every small step matters.

To our SEN team and volunteers Kudhu Zaha Saeed maaazy .g — thank you. It is because of your kindness, patience, and unwavering dedication that our adaptive arts program continues to exist and grow. The Sen Classes of Creative Jous stands today and continue to do so because of the goodness in your hearts.

We hope to see greater understanding of the importance of art, inclusivity, and accessible education for neurodivergent individuals across our communities. We hope for more awareness, more support, and more people willing to stand with us in creating spaces where everyone belongs.

Introducing animation to young children can feel complex—but tools like Procreate make it intuitive, playful, and accessible!

With its simple interface and built-in animation features, Procreate allows kids to experiment freely without feeling overwhelmed. They can bring their drawings to life frame by frame, helping them understand movement, timing, and storytelling in a hands-on way.

It encourages creativity, patience, and problem-solving—all while feeling like play. For young learners, it’s not just about making animations, it’s about discovering that their ideas can move, evolve, and come alive right in front of them.

If your kids like to dabble in digital arts, then our Procreate Digital Arts with are a great choice!
