To contribute to the CNN’s Call to Earth Day, Nature Nurturers of VIHS held a beach clean up in Hulhumale.
It was an endeavor to eliminate the waste that could pose a threat to marine animals.
The beach links the land to the marine environment. Therefore, we believe that cleaning the beach is a step towards cleaning our oceans. This was an eye-opening experience to students as it helped them to reflect on ways in which their lifestyle impacted the ecosystem and how a small step on their part could add to a larger
goal: a continuous effort to protect the environment.
