Remember the name: ASTRA … one of OpenAI’s upcoming frontier models. It has not been publicly released yet. But OpenAI has already said enough for us to pay attention. A next major model family, positioned as a new class of FRONTIER AI alongside its other tiers like Sol, Terra & Luna … with advanced capabilities and heightened security.

Its internal evaluations point to significant advances in agentic coding and cybersecurity. Significant enough that OpenAI says it cannot rule out Astra reaching its Critical CYBER SECURITY capability threshold. And this, for me, is where the story becomes much bigger than cybersecurity.

When AI starts reasoning, using tools, accessing systems and pursuing an objective across a sequence of actions, we are no longer simply discussing a better chatbot. It is now agency. And with agency come authority, controls, monitoring, escalation … and accountability.

Exactly the path that we have taken since the start of 2026, with our Agentic AI seminars.

At Knowledge of the ART, we have increasingly shifted our work from merely using AI to understanding and controlling Agentic AI.

Astra is not here yet. But, our guess was right. We will continue on the same wavelength. Watch this space for more.

“In a 5-star environment, even the dessert is engineered.” Yesterday, for our AI Masterclass on AI Governance, it was never meant to be:
• another AI seminar,
• another tools workshop,
• another ‘copy prompts from the screen’ session.
