Year 1 students - Contract Law.

This module aims to provide you with knowledge and understanding of different aspects and general principles of English contract law. To this end, the module gives you an overview of the requirements for the formation of contract, consideration, terms, interpretation and enforceability of contract, vitiating factors, damages and other remedies.

This module is concerned with the general principles of criminal liability, fatal and non-fatal offences against the person and offences against property. Attempts to commit offences, secondary liability and defences are also included.

- General Principles of Criminal law.
- Actus reus.
- Causation.
- Mens Rea. Intention recklessness and negligence.
- Coincidence of actus reus and mens rea.
- General defences (e.g. Insanity. Automatism. Intoxication.)
- Murder and voluntary manslaughter.
- Involuntary manslaughter.
- Non-fatal offences.
