What's my story? How did I become a sleep consultant?
I am a mum to two beautiful little children who make my heart burst, ache and explode all at the same time.
*C* was born in the heat of December, a few days before Christmas. Fast forward those first survival mode 6- 8 weeks and boom πŸ’₯ lock down and covid hit the world. I spiralled into a very deep hole of having a completely sleep deprived 8 week old who was waking every hour at night and cat napping during the day.
Those few months were a blur and surviving on very little sleep. To second this blurry period in life our first born H, who was a great little sleeper since a young age suddenly began walking to our room 5 times a night just 2 nights after bringing C home from the hospital. It was chaos between feeding, burping, a toddler in the bed, on the mattress, swapping beds, changing Nappies.........
Needless to say I got to a point where we could not go on like this and something had to change.
We reached out to a sleep trainer when C was 5 months and H was 2 and half. It was hard for a few weeks and a lot of sacrifice, dedication and consistency was needed. It was the best gift I could ever give myself, my husband and my kids. I am someone who desperately needs sleep in order to function and boy oh boy i was not functioning. Having someone by my side to guide and encourage me to keep going was helpful too. I couldn't believe the results and how much it helped me deal with my own emotions. This is what interested me the most. All I could think of was how many mums were probably so sleep deprived and struggling to cope just like me. Fast forward 1 year and I qualified as a baby sleep consultant.

My biggest takeaways from this experience:

Looking for 1 Volunteer Client that has a gentle parenting style and would like to use an in -the room sleep training approach when teaching your baby to sleep.

Hello,
I am looking for 2 Volunteer Clients with a baby in the age range of 3 - 6 months.
I am looking for babies who have any of the following criteria:
-Nap issues
-Frequent and excessive night wake ups
-Parents having to use hands-on approaches to settle or re-settle their baby and wanting to change this association(rocking, feeding to sleep, patting etc).
- Babies going through the 4 month sleep regression.

Does your baby fit into any of the above and are you looking to change your current sleeping situation? If yes it would be a great fit for me to work with you.
How the program works is as follows:
- Fill in an intake form to gather information about you and your baby.
- Initial call with me to discuss any further questions and sleep training options
- I will then write a personalised plan for you (all plans and advice go through my mentor who is a qualified and experienced sleep consultant).
- I will support you for two weeks once you begin the plan. This includes check-ins everyday and comments on your sleep log that you will fill in for me daily and a catch up call every 2 or 3 days to see how things are going.

Hello Everybody,

Welcome to my page. I am currently studying to become a sleep consultant. Sleep is an important aspect of each and every one of our lives. Often people assume that this sleep training is harsh or just cry it out methods. In my training we learn a variety of strategies and this depends on your parenting style. Which ever method you choose is personal and unique to each family.
Over the next few months I will be needing some volunteer clients in the following age ranges:
Newborn: 3 - 12 weeks
3 - 6 month olds
7 - 12 month olds
Toddlers (13 months +).

How does the system work:
- Firstly you will fill out an intake form to gather information for me
- Then I will write up a plan for you (based on your parent style and preferences and family dynamics). This will be checked with my mentor to make sure the advice I am giving is great advice.
We will then follow up and be in contact every 48 hours to log what's happening in your day and nights and work towards the goal that we set together.
Families will need to commit to 2 weeks to undertake the plan and hopefully reach the desired outcome.

Reaching the Goal has one fundamental golden key - CONSISTENCY.
