Our work with Knights College is one example. We supported the development of work-based MBA and degree-level qualifications, designed around the integration of academic learning and workplace experience.

Our work focused on the programme and curriculum architecture, ensuring workplace activity was not simply an additional component, but part of the learning model itself.

This meant aligning learning outcomes, modules, assessment and workplace activities to create a stronger connection between academic study and professional practice.

The result: a work-based learning model designed to help learners develop and demonstrate relevant knowledge, skills and competences in both academic and professional contexts.

What actually happens during an international quality assurance visit?

Behind every accreditation decision are weeks of preparation, detailed analysis of the Self-Assessment Report, extensive discussions with university stakeholders, evidence-based questioning and collaborative peer review.

Below, we offer a glimpse into the accreditation process, from preparation through to the site visit, and some of the work that takes place behind the scenes.

Our international quality assurance work continues to bring Edu Alliance into collaboration with higher education institutions across different regions and academic contexts.

One other recent engagement in Uzbekistan took us to The University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), where Edu Alliance Founder and CEO Martin Borg served as the Quality Assurance and Professional Practice Expert on an ACQUIN international accreditation panel.

Established in 1992 as Uzbekistan's first university following independence, UWED has become one of the country's leading institutions for international relations, international law and international economics.

Over several days, the international panel engaged in constructive discussions with university leadership, staff, students and stakeholders reviewing UWED’s international economics, international relations, international law, political science and foreign languages bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes as part of a comprehensive peer-review process.

A look back at Edu Alliance Founder and CEO Martin Borg’s recent visit to Uzbekistan, where he took part in two international accreditation procedures at Mamun University as an international expert for ACQUIN.

The visit formed part of Edu Alliance’s wider involvement in international quality assurance across Uzbekistan, working with leading educators, institutional leaders and international experts across diverse disciplines. In total, seven accreditation procedures have been completed in the country over the past year.

Our thanks once again to the Founder, Rector, Vice-Rectors, International Office and the entire Mamun University team for their openness, engagement and hospitality, as well as to the ACQUIN e.V. team and experts for their excellent coordination.

Setting up a higher education institution in Malta?

Strong accreditation outcomes begin with clear processes, robust evidence and fully aligned institutional practices. This was the focus of a recent project in which Edu Alliance supported the European College of Innovation (ECI) through accreditation-related procedures within the European higher education context.

Working alongside ECI’s teams, we helped review quality assurance processes and documentation, align practices with European standards and strengthen readiness for external review. The result was a clearer, more structured and evidence-based approach to accreditation.
