My Kind of Jewellery ♟️

Some women collect handbags. Some collect jewellery. I seem to have developed a weakness for beautiful chess sets.

This particular one came all the way from Uzbekistan, bringing back wonderful memories of Samarkand and the Chess Olympiad. 🇺🇿

I’ve always believed that intelligence and femininity make a rather beautiful combination.

You can love fashion, elegant places, a little glamour… and still enjoy a fierce battle over 64 squares.

After all, who said a woman has to choose between looking fabulous and playing a brilliant game? 😉

♟️🇲🇹 Samarkand 2026- An Unforgettable Chess Olympiad! 🇺🇿

Some experiences stay with you forever, and representing Malta at the Chess Olympiad in Samarkand was certainly one of them! ❤️

A big thank you to the Malta Chess Federation for giving me this wonderful opportunity and the honour of representing Malta on the international chess stage.

My sincere appreciation goes to the organisers of the Chess Olympiad in Samarkand for their outstanding organisation, warm hospitality, and for making this event such a memorable experience. Uzbekistan truly exceeded my expectations!

We excited to welcome young chess players to our 2026–2027 Chess Programme at Sprachcaffe Malta!

Join us every Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. for fun and engaging chess lessons as part of the E4 Chess Academy 4 Levels Programme!

Chess is more than just a game! It can become a lifelong hobby while helping children develop concentration, logical thinking, problem-solving and cognitive abilities. It’s also a wonderful way to make new friends, build confidence and develop important social skills.

Every Thursday from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m., Sprachcaffe students are invited to join our free chess activity in the cafeteria!

Немного узбекских традиций 🫖♟️🇺🇿
Узбекистан открывается не только через знаменитую архитектуру и историю, но и через детали — яркие орнаменты, старинные ремёсла, гостеприимство и, конечно, традиционное чаепитие.
Особенно мне нравятся работы местных мастеров. Здесь даже шахматы превращаются в маленькое произведение искусства: фигурки расписывают вручную, сохраняя восточный колорит и традиционные мотивы. А ещё здесь часто встречается образ птицы Хумо — символа счастья, свободы и удачи. По легенде, тому, на кого упадёт её тень, будет сопутствовать счастье. ✨
А чай здесь отдельная история. Его пьют неспешно, за разговорами, встречами и просто наслаждаясь моментом.
Ну а когда рядом ещё и шахматная доска — для меня сочетание практически идеальное😊

Another step forward in my chess journey ♟️

Happy to have completed the official DGT Board Operator Training in Samarkand. A valuable experience that will allow me to support and run DGT tournaments in Malta.

It was a pleasure to attend an official DGT training and learn more about the technology behind professional chess events.
