Meet our founder and head of academy, Elizabeth Cortis.

Elizabeth graduated as a teacher of English and History in 2007. In 2017, with ten years of experience as a teacher of English 👩‍🏫 and, in parallel, ten years of proofreading and editing experience under her belt ✍️, Elizabeth channelled her passion into founding Proofreading Malta.

Elizabeth finds joy in teaching and learning, be it when sharing her expertise with others or learning something new herself ☀️. With Proofreading Malta Academy, she returns to her educator roots, crafting courses that blend knowledge with real-world strategies.

Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys learning and practising Shotokan karate alongside her husband and children, who also practise karate at SKSM Karate Malta.
